i think the main issue is just his consistency in playing a certain way. when he's active, and hitting, he's disruptive, engaged and creates. when he doesn't play that way, he's generally invisible. to me, he should play that same style regardless of whether he's at wing or center. be a a factor.

For sure. He really isn't great at any one thing. He's pretty good at a couple things and when he's playing to those strengths he is a factor and someone the other team has to plan for.

He should be able to bring it in every situation he gets put into but I honestly can't blame a guy for looking and playing more comfortable at his natural position. People seem to forget the Flyers turned Schenn into a winger he never was one before that ever. Playing a position you aren't naturally comftorable with can be more difficult then one thinks even if he did have success there before.

Schenn's goal total is lower than it should be, but he's always been a streaky scorer, like most players. He'll get a hot streak somewhere. Even with his goal totals behind, he's still on pace for a 50+ point season.
