Yup, that was brutal. Not sure what that has to do with moving him to center though, i mean that's more defensive responsibility. I was at the game last night and there were a ton of rangers fans. Fun atmosphere. One other thing i noticed: Gorges shouldn't be out there with Eichel's line. When Gorges gets the puck at the point, the forward cheats down to double Eichel because they don't respect Gorges' shot. Everyone knows he's just gonna cycle the puck back down low.

I was sitting right in front of the cameras in the 200 level and i could hear the camera guy muttering about Girgs' play

Jack Eichel's return

Eichel, who injured his ankle during the preseason, made his season debut on Tuesday and had an immediate impact with a goal and an assist for the Buffalo Sabres in a 5-4 win at the Ottawa Senators. He followed that up with two goals in the third period in a 4-3 win against the New York Rangers in his home debut this season on Thursday. That's three goals and four points in two games for Eichel.

It's clear that Eichel has an impact on the Sabres' offense; they've scored nine goals in the two games since his return. He changes how other teams defend and also make his teammates better. The Sabres managed to stay above water in Eichel's absence and should be right there competing for a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference now that he's back.

Josh Gorges sustained an undisclosed injury during Thursday's contest.
Gorges recently dealt with an upper-body injury, but that might not be related. He's undergoing tests.

Eich is back so now we're gonna swing back above .500 and make the playoffs.
