Like I said the only reason Mathews was picked over Laine was because he was a centre. For some reason people think you can only win if you draft the best center. That is the only reason he went 1st overall. Laine is a scoring machine. Goals win games.

It's obvious that both players are exceptional, but both are very different; Laine is more along the lines of an Ovi (or perhaps a Stamkos) who is an absolute beast on the one-timer, while Matthews has the potential to develop into a guy like Bergeron/Kopitar/Thornton who can play solid defense while controlling the puck in the o-zone too, which is nothing to sneeze at at all.
