Unreal. I've seen many bank in shots from behind the net but never the mid air rebound from the initial behind the net bank in haha.

I guess we can put to bed the Connor Sheary doesnt belong on the Crosby line narrative. Without his effort that third goal doesn't happen. He and Sid have been dangerous all game. That's the one line that needs no tinkering. Too bad Jakey injured himself, he would thrive in this type of game with his speed and hands. Oh well hopefully he's ready to go for the Dead Wings.

i'm really staring to believe that sheary, for all of his flaws (and i will fully admit that i female doged about him a ton in the post season) might just be the most workable fit there. a poor man's dupuis. sid needs some speed.

how i'd construct the rest of the lines really depends on whether bonino can step up and have the HBK line function close to what it was last year.

He's just amazing. He reminds me of Mario. Not saying he's quite on that level, but every time he touches the puck I expect something good to happen. McD will take his crown eventually, but he doesn't have it yet.

Legitimately, one of the best games of Schultz's penguins (or entire for that matter) career

Couple things here.

Crosby-horn-Sheary looked great.

Malkin-hags-Kessel looked damn good as well.

Fluery played his ass off. I kind of feel bad about trashing him so much lately......syke. I don't have feelings.

Is keeping those lines too top heavy?

Schultz is a good hockey player that was never put in a position to succeed prior to coming to PGH.

So has mcdavid. Can't believe crosby would still lead the league if he played the same amount as mcdavid considering how he is playing. We could have 2 100 point players this year

Hope so. Good for the game. Crosby can score from anywhere this year. Sick goal tonight. Mc David sets up five easy tap ins a game. Glad Ebs is off his line, cant hit a barn. Leon will really prosper from this, as he did tonight. What you guys going to do with Fleury?

Trade him hopefully. In whatever case we can't lose murray even though he has looked shaky as of late

Is it just me or does Fleury have the worst luck in goal of any goalie ever? Always seems to be multiple deflections when he's not getting hung out to dry.

Interesting having him play against a rumored suitor and play well (I saw that he also got the first star of the game, not that that matters, but a good move to try to pump him up, not that he even cares). Niemi, on the other hand, not so much. All things being equal, I think Fleury is about a .915 goalie and Niemi is about a .910 goalie. Given their contracts and the Pens situation vis-a-vis Murray, I think it would be a fair straight-up swap. Maybe Dallas adds a little extra or retains a little if they can.

Great rebound again! Nice to put plenty on a team that can usually put a few in the net.

Strange things happening - Islanders having a revival getting the better of both Pens & Caps!! & the Blowjackets could be divisional leaders very shortly,

Someone said it recently, & it's the basis of one of my theories on winning hockey games, the D not scoring. Well that changed today thank (frank)!

Now a little consistency from our Stanley cup champions would be lovely.

I haven't read the blog as yet, but with the title it appears a 'revision' blog before puck off has a lot more luck than a 'preview' blog giving uppercuts to our opponent!

Take heed Gunner, #gunnersblogcurse is the real!

Now I'll go read how bad we were for 55 minutes V the Islanders.

Edit: Ok so Seguin fired a shot across the curse bow.

Nice blog Ryan. Any explanation on Geuntzy getting benched? Injured?

Not sure but it's funny watching him turtle all over the crease now & then. Nice commentary on Boners goal - "Niemi didn't have a chance, what were the D doing? Playing goalie instead of defence". Not sure Flower could save Dallas, or how long he could survive, with all our poop play we still have Tanger, who do the Stars have to help out? At least the Flames have Gio & Hammos.

I feel like a lot of us took the night off after the gut punch that was the Islander's game... I had this as just background noise until the third... but good win, and in a back to back.

And of course, Flower regaining his trade value
