They could win twenty in a row, and we'd still be calling for Crappy and Snowjobs' heads.

We have to give them a chance, but so far, I agree it hasn't been the best start for them. There's no point in even saying anything at this point it's just going to annoy people. And it doesn't look good to wait til winning a couple games to say something.

I'm going to give the new owners a chance. Ledecky did say he expected a couple of series wins this year so I would he backs up his words if that does not happen.

The problem is that even with a few wins, there are still major problems with this organization. Regardless if they string a few together, they still have not addressed the same issues that have plagued this team for 6 years now. I.E Power Play being a joke and late game goals.

where's the enjoyment factor? if you want perfect hockey where your team always wins in storybook fashion, look no further than the JHL.

and look who's behind the bench...

Gutsy win last night, coming on the heels of a character-testing win against PIT. I wasn't overly impressed they beat Calgary, but these last two games were needed wins against divisional, conference opponents. It was nice to see goaltending make a difference for a change.

Here comes a glass of Kool-Aid: there is nobody between the Isles and the first wild card spot that the Isles cannot pass over the course of the season. There is still 4 1/2 months left. If the Isles win their divisional and conference games, they can get into the playoffs again. There are a lot of decent, but not great teams in the Eastern Conference.

And if anyone is worried that the Isles getting into the playoffs keeps Snow/Cappy around longer, I wouldn't necessarily say that. The only way those two keep their jobs beyond this season is if this team advances beyond the second round this year. Ownership (hopefully) is not going to settle for mediocrity, which merely making the playoffs and getting bounced in round 1 or 2 every year is. Snow and Cappy's biggest failure has been getting this team over the hump from being a respectable, competitive team to a true contender.

Is this post a joke? Seems to me all these two"CHARACTER" wins do for isles is keep the country club and snow and cappy around for the rest of the year. Oh I forgot it also guarantees a win for the isles Tuesday.

I'm not impressed yet. It's easy to stand in front of a mic and yell we want another cup & back to the glory days, yada, yada. It's another to actually do something. Spano, Gluckstern/Millstein, Wang, Ledecky/Malkin. The only difference so far is that Ledecky said spend to the cap. Too bad there's an idiot GM that isn't very good at getting value for the dollar.

I understand wanting to continue to win but this streak plays right into the hands of the coaching staff takes the pressure off. I admit I'm not an islander fan but as good as this team plays on certain nights it does make you wonder what would happen if you had a different coach.

Ledecky has really not done anything to be impressed with yet hockeyman. I do give him credit for increasing the payroll. Ledecky and Malkin just took over full control this year so I'll give them more time like I did with Wang and the other owners. 3 wins in a row is nice, but let's see if they can keep it going.

Not only that, but what would guys like Bailey, Strome, Nelson, Mayfield, etc do with a coach that knows how to develop talent?

It is definitely not a joke. Regardless of how awful the Isles have started, and I've killed them on these message boards all season so far for their dumpster fire start, these last two games were wins against very good teams. And it most certainly is not a joke to suggest that being 3 points out of the second wild card in early December with the list of teams ahead of them by a few points or less is not an insurmountable obstacle to overcome.

I want Cappy and Snow gone as much as anyone and if Wang were calling the shots right now, I'd say they were safe regardless of what happens this season. But Wang's not calling the shots anymore. If Ledecky/Malkin want to build a contender, they will remove Cappy and Snow at season's end regardless if this team has a few winning streaks or not.

And there is no way that ownership is going to fire the GM mid season, with many potential replacements for Snow being tied up with other teams right now. They'll need to wait until the offseason to have a full plate of possible replacements to consider.

That's why I said yet (bold). It's only been half a year. Still, with this ship sinking, there should have been something done. We all know about Gallant. I've never been a fan of Crappy, nor most of the other coaching hires in the last 2 decades, save for Nolan. Just keep recycling the same coach just with a different name. Always coming in from the farm.

Maybe so, but can KO do push-ups with chains on? I'm guessing no. Only Bailey can do that!

KO skates with chains wrapped around his ball sack, which is what causes him to trip over bluelines on occasion.

Sorry to tell you Jethro, but I think we're stuck with Snow. It appears that ownership had nothing bad to say about him. Crappy on the other hand might be gone at the end of the season, as you pointed out. Yes, they might just make the playoffs again by backing their way in, but I don't see them getting out of the first round the way they played the first 20 games. That said, if they play the way they did the last 2 games, that's a horse of a different color. That was the team, I think we can all agree, that we were all expecting to see to start this season.

I don't think you can expect the owners to come out and say "Snow sucks, we can't wait to replace him" or something to that extent. They're not going to come out and announce they want to change things in management. That stuff just happens when the owners feel the time is right.

I've said this before, but Snow and Cappy's biggest collective failure has been failing to get this team from a respectable, competitive team to a contender. They can't get the team to make that jump and I doubt that will ever change. IF the new owners are serious about winning, they're going to look at the entire track record of these two and see four (possibly 5) playoff years, three first round exits and one second round exit (and a possible TBD). in between those playoff years were horrid bottom five finishes. I doubt seriously that if this team flames out this year that the new owners are going to stand pat with Snow.

No question I would have at least got rid of Cappy during the bad early season start. He is not going anywhere now with the team one game under 500 and 3 points back of a playoff spot. I still have to hope changes will be made unless the Isles go on a long playoff run.

I hope you're right. At this point though, and I'm sure you'll understand, I'm not expecting any changes. I'm just worn out from expectations going unrealized. So I've just resigned myself to the fact that Crappy and Snow will be here through next season, Jt might sign elsewhere (which might get Snow fired), this team will never get past the 2nd round and we will sit on these boards and continue to piss and whine about it.

The JT angle is the biggest reason why I think ownership will move on from Snow/Cappy. They have to sell a future to JT to keep him around. Keeping those two in place will mean a future of mediocrity. I doubt JT signs up for that long-term.

I would be shocked if both are back without a long playoff run this year. Cannot see Ledecky wanting to keep Wang's guys. I really have to think he would not want the firestorm of both coming back off of another 1st or 2nd round exit.
