Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday
Cap: Halak in goal, Seidenberg for Mayfield, Quine for Beauvillier
So much for no changes after wins. Mayfield is out after a nice game. - ses111
"Damn you Beau and Mayfield. What the hell are you guys doing having a decent game. Just for that go get in the press box."
Such a typical dumbass move. |

Instead of trading a dman, it will be back to sitting for Mayfield. Seidenberg is having a nice season and is not part of the future. Why not move him and let Mayfield play 3rd pair with Hickey? |

No real value in a trade. He's done at the end of this season and has a very team friendly deal. I guess someone might take a flier on him if the were decimated by injuries on the back end. Also, you have to remember that Garth likes to collect things. Goalies, centers, D-men, Crappy's. |

Just hate the idea of younger players having to sit for older vets. I can see a playoff team having interest in Seidenberg at the deadline. |

I think they had one good game last night playing on national tv, I'm not predicting a win tonight though. I do think this team has enough talent to win tonight, I don't think we have the coaching to win tonight.
And your opinion of Mayfield is incorrect. While he can skate in a straight line just fine, it's his turns and body positioning that get him in trouble. It's my opinion that Pelech is a little further ahead just simply due to skating. Don't mistake me though, they both get themselves out of position here and there, but Pelech is a better skater and recover from it a little better. - Isleshockeyman
I'm pretty superstitious so us reversing the curse of losing late by winning late should propel us. Pelech isnt bad by any means, but Mayfield is just so much more engaged and isnt afraid to put the puck on net. Maybe it's the snarl he has, but i love his enthusiasm.

Meh, possibly. He's a typical 6-7 D-man. Steady vet. But here's the thing for me, like you said, why not play the young kids. I get that you can't have a 6 rookies on you defense. But if you're going to draft, "develop" them in the minors, then why not give them a crack in the show. The player development is a big sticking point for me with this regime. |

It's just to always go with any sort of vet over young players is just wrong and has not exactly gotten great results. |

I think Sider gives you the best chance to win and get back into the PO picture. He was one of our best defensemen:ahh:
If the playoffs are done then I agree let your kids play because what does it matter at that point.

I understand Seidenberg being in against WAS but for useless Quine is really unacceptable..... |

I just don't get the insistence in getting Quine into the line up. The guy is a plug. He's topped out talent-wise. And he plays over the top 3 or 4 youngster in the organization. Develop a prospect? These clowns couldn't develop a Polaroid picture. |

Quine is Strait 2.0. They couldn't develop a good case of hemorrhoids. |

Don't agree with that. If he was bad you sit him let him think about his mistakes.
Just because he's a first round pick doesn't mean he gets a free pass to play. You have to earn you ice time in the NHL.
In this case he wasn't so for phucks sake let Quine sit again and let Beau play.

Totally disagree, only way the team will know what he is or developing into is to play him, u dont use a 1st rd pick player to sit, then send him back 2 juniors and let him develop his game, wont happen in press box. Plus making mistakes is human its a part of developing..... |
