It also brings alot of question as to what his actual name is.

I think they kind of "Americanize" their names when they get here

like when Emelin got here he had "Yemelin" on his jersey for about a week

or Alex Kovalev real name being Alekseï Viatcheslavovitch Kovaliov

Frenchie probably knows better but i think it has to do with pronunciation. the Russians use a different alphabet and when the names are transliterated to English, they come out not spelled the way they should sound according to Anglos. like we would say KOE-VA-LEE-OV, but Russians probably prnounce it much closer to Kovalev.

there's like a 97% chance that this all entirely and completely false.
