Ok - how about Girardi 32, $5.5 mil for 4 more years, or Staal for $5.7 mil for five more years, or $6.5 mil for Stepan for five more years (for a guy that has managed 20 goals in a season - twice -WOW!

Some pretty smelly ones here.

I hear you are the expert on that

Stepan, 26 is better .PPG player than Kadri. If the Stepan stinks so does Kadri. Again please use the internet better.

Thank you for bringing up Derek Stepan. He too is one of the most underrated forwards in the league.

Girardi and Staal are having bounceback seasons btw and are logging close to 20 minutes a game on arguably the best team in the league

Too bad the overrated Rangers are never bad enough to get a 1st/2nd overall pick like the Leafs and Jets are.
- rangerdanger94

And they have won fewer cups than Edmonton even though they have been in the NHL since 1925.

Is there a team in the league that doesn't have a few smelly contracts?

FFS, this is pretty weak sauce, coming from a Leafs fan.

Rangers are on a road to nowhere - and will continue for a long time to be the original six team that has won the fewest cups. Vesey was a good pick up, the rest of their talent is old and overpaid. And AV sucks large.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
Everyone knows Hank is 34 now, and he remains one of the best goalies in the league. So, highly paid, yes. Overpaid, no.
Rick Nash is, I believe, the only forward over 30, at all of 32. Yes, his contract is a monster cap hit, but he is on pace for 30 goals. Not exactly terrible.
Staal and Girardi are making too much money, I'll give you that. But in today's NHL less than 6 million is not ludicrous. And each have given their heart, body and soul to the team, so I'll live with it.
Ryan McDonagh is one of the best contracts in the league.
The rest of their top 9 forwards are an avg. age of 24 and earn an avg. of $3.5M.
Please tell me who is it you mean that is old and overpaid. Come on, show us that you don't know what you're talking about some more.

And as for having the least Cups of the Original 6. Of course the do. They were the doormats of the league for 3 generations! That was a LONG time ago, friend. And I am not sure how and why it matters to anything.

Have a nice day.

So you like stats, just not ones that involve work and math. Big brain problems, sad.

Ok best team in the NHL and the best fans and the best city, and the most HORSESHIIT. Stepan - underrated at $6.5 mil for 20 goals? Leafs will have 3 rookies this season that will outscore him.

Scoring series-winning goals is overrated.

Now, a guy who can score a goal in the regular season in the dying minutes of a game that's already been decided...now THAT is Jeff Carter a player worth paying for.

He's beaten Mcdavid's Oilers once so far this year. What does the WCoH mean?
