I think the fear is that this guy has already had some ups and downs. If he breaks down we would be on the the hook for a lot of years. I was also worried about the retirement clause that the NHL used to punish teams that gave out long contracts but I believe that would still be the Kings worry and not ours (similar to what we went through with the Hoff).

on your comment in the last blog about Eichel being captain...... i ask, outside of ROR and Okposo who do we really have to be a captain? they are all either young or just not leaders.

I thought for sure with Nate Thompson from the Ducks going down we would have a deal with the Ducks, they were talking about it. The Ducks have a " team cap " and I figured Girgensons would fit in with that.
