am of the opinion that the ice will be opened up just a bit more with a full compliment of forwards which includes Eichel, o'reilly, and kane...that will help a lot
- Michael Pachla

I agree, but I anticipate that we will both receive several of the "Eichel will save us from everything" snarks, and wanted to avoid that.

Larsson is noticeable and a contributing player on every shift. Girgensons is not.
- sskkoo1

I agree, although he's had some pretty long, dark spells as well...and i'm kinda bummed because I thought he had much more in him...

look at it this way...gus is on the fourth line right now making $1.15m...it ain't killing the team having him out there in that role and if he improves, that's even better

under Bylsma:

Larsson--13 goals, 11 assists
gus--eight goals, 14 assists

- Michael Pachla

My recollection of Girgs' 15-goal season was his ability to take the puck at center ice and head north-south down the middle of the ice toward the net to score or set up a rebound situation. It was full bore crash the net. All i see now is perimeter play. He doesnt seem to be anywhere near the net

that was him, but he can't do that under bylsma's system and he hasn't been able to adapt...

I always looked at him, in the very least, as a mike grier-type who's able to score on a breakaway

Yeah, he's been Mr. Invisible. Not sure what else I can add, other than pure disappointment from a fan's standpoint. Really expected more as did everyone else I think...

From the Sens blog

All eyes will be on Jack Eichel, as the phenom is expected to make his first appearance of the season following a broken leg in practice on the eve of the opener

He obviously has the ability to do this, so maybe, he should just go rogue and try this again for his own benefit.

The strangest part to me is that he has (had?) speed that was at least league average, if not better and now it's just gone. He rarely carries the puck into the zone. Where did the speed element go?

if gus is the only one who doesn't get it, than the coach can't change everything for just one player...

that said, it is up to the coach to get the most out of what he's been given individually and team-wise

Check other players production point wise this season. Gus is just the topic of many.

It wasn't that long ago that we were all fawning over "Lioneater" on this board. And when he inevitably gets traded to another team and ends up scoring 15 - 20, many who root against him now will say GMTM was a fool. See Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia, Mikhail Grigorenko etc for reference.

This is the part that's troubling, and leads to the Groulx question.
