The funny thing is that if he does anything he will be suspended long term ...his little freak out last game basically eliminated him from doing anything about it

JVR Carrick 1st. Leivo for Hamilton?

So the 1st round pick doesn't make much sense.

JVR for Hamilton is the hockey part of the trade.

JVR is an FA after 1.5 more years so need to sweeten the pot.

Throw in a conditional 2nd rounder if he re-signs.

Carrick will get exposed during Expansion draft if we get Hamilton so might as well throw him in and give Calgary a defender back.

Leivo doesn't have a spot on the team and could add some long term depth to the Calgary offense.


I don't see calgary biting on it though. Leafs aren't in a position yet to start mortgaging the future.
