I hope the Leafs don't trade any of their prospects/players right now. They're starting to look good, and seem to be playing like a team with a plan, or at least one that is sticking to a plan.
- mykokes

Except the D sucks.
A trade has to happen eventually.
With more competent D....they could be 3-4pts better....which would be a wildcard spot.

Plus it would be awesome to see people freak out in here if it did occur.

Keep the ones that are top liners or top six guys at least: Marner, Matthews, Nylander.
- mykokes

Meh.
you can replace a winger.
We need top 4 d. That cost you top line forwards.
It is what it is.

You can find quality d too....by drafting them. See Nashville. No need to rush.
- mykokes

Again...if's and maybe's.
D take so much longer to develop unless extreme top end.
The leafs dont have all the time in world.

Would like to see Corrado cut loose, and these guys get cups of coffee at the NHL level this year:
Rinat Valiev [Rookie] (M)
Viktor Loov [Rookie] (M)
Travis Dermott [Rookie] (M)
Andrew Nielsen [Rookie] (M)
Justin Holl [Rookie] (M)

Corrado has one game this year.

So no, if the idea is to replace Corrado with a kid, just to sit him in the pressbox...

The d sucks today yes. I like competing for a wild card spot, but I don't want to do something stupid just to make the playoffs. Nylander's 20 yo....Kadri was still (frank)ing around in the AHL at that age......Steen was still in Europe. If those guys became 50 point players, I imagine Nylander could be even better. You'll get a lot more for him in two years time too. Unless you're chirelli.

Im hesitant to trade Nylander yet.
But to get you gotta give.
We cant keep all our talented forwards and/or prospects.

- Fakepartofme

Why not - Tampa has managed to keep most of theirs.

I agree. I have liked Brown on that line with Matthews though.

(frank), I don't want to trade Nylander for Hamilton, but I think they are going to

Cups of coffee means a handful of games. I mention Corrado simply because he's a roster spot and nothing more. I assume Babcock simply doesn't see him as an option, but maybe one of the guys I mentioned, he might be more open to inserting here and there. To at least know what we have with them.

Especially Loov, who didn't do so bad in his cup of coffee last season.

It's going to be a wicked hard weekend of drinking.

No kids.

My BFF and his wife (oh, and Mrs. Wedgie, too).

Boston Pops Christmas Concert on the Friday night.

Leafs game Saturday night.

Maybe hit the MFA.

A little shopping on Newbury.

Fill in the rest of the white space on the agenda with eating and drinking.

They have at least 4 years....or at least that's what I was told when we started on this 5 year rebuild last season.

Agree about Corrado. I'd rather leave Dermott and Neilsen in the AHL, and the rest are no better than the 5-6-7 scrubs we have now.

Really - did you know he also plays C? I'm curious how you would replace a top line forward so easily when this one required a year of sucking to draft in the top 10.

You were told wrong. I don't ever remember anything being said about 5 years.

You really think they signed Rielly and Kadri for 6 years, and Andersen for 5, so that they could be good in the final years of their deals? Come on now.

They need to show improvement this year and be much better next. There's no excuse not to be

Sometimes those 5-6-7 scrubs turn into something more......but you never know unless you try them out...
btw...Mark Giordano was once a 5-6-7 scrub.

You don't go from 30th place straight into the playoffs. Those that do always relapse. And they have shown improvement....they're in the playoff race as it stands with a bunch of kids.

Hey, if Hunwick, Polak or Marincin turn into the next Giordano, I'll personally take you out for beers and steaks and tell you I was dead wrong.

I don't think I am though
