Look forward to Boeser, Juolevi, and Demko. Don't start cheering for losses this early in the season

I dont think its cheering for losses, its just being realistic of the situation and being excited about the new piece that the team could potentially add. Some people buy lottery tickets every week but still make reasonable budgets because they are realistic that they arent going to win

I just can't stand the doom and gloom perspective when people have no idea what the season is actually going to turn out to be. 6 points is what separates us from the top spot in the pacific division, I know we're not a contending team but at least cheer for the team to win some games rather than fantasize about who we could draft in the worst case where we get a big prize for being the best losers.

Sad to see people be so gullible to think "oooh maybe this year we'll win it!" We all know if we had gotten drawn 1st/2nd overall and drafted Laine the organization would be in a different place but it didn't happen and spending the whole year hoping it will this time around is silly.

Personally, I think that this has less to do with the season success and just more of the excitement of turning over the roster to youth. I thought this team was capable of contending for the wild card, but doesnt stop me from being more excited about getting a new forward and seeing the fresh blood on the team next year. It was exciting last year having McCann, Virtanen, Hutton. This year Stecher, Tryamkin. Next year hopefully some combination of Boeser/Juolevi/2017 pick. Its fun to get excited over a prospect you like and hope he is available for them to take

I doubt we Juolevi with the Canucks next season. Maybe Boeser.
Next season will be the Sedin's swan song.

That was my initial point though, hoping we draft someone specific in the first round is kind of setting yourself up for potential disappointment, whereas looking forward to Boeser, Juolevi, Demko makes more sense to me

Looking more and more like it makes sense for next year to be their last. Should be a good year next year regardless of how the team fares in the standings

Juolevi is 2 years away at minimum but it's apparent we are going to nee to get Boeser in the lineup somehow next season.

I think Boeser is a pretty good bet. He can play at the NHL level, it comes down to school with him. Juolevi probably has it tougher, the D is pretty young and he would have to substantially be better than the rest to crack the roster. Still might get his 9 games though.

A little bit, but this year seems so wide open that one of 5 guys are in reach of 1OA that a good talent could be taken anywhere. It'll be interesting to follow, but you are right it is easier to track the progress of players we already own the rights to

Another Mccann or Virtanen situation

Boeser should be in the AHL all of next year if signed.

Agree AHL is always an option but it appears Boeser has a quite a bit more upside than McCann or JV. Too early to tell but the signs are there. Hopefully we'll see what Boeser brings at camp

Many posters follow the draft closely. There are prospects that will be selected in the 10-20 range that I am excited about. I think you are confusing the issue here.

He will for sure...I was very impressed with him in preseason despite being 170 pounds. Additional size and strength over the summer will be huge. He is starting to heat up with London as well
