Can someone add a 'wooo woooo' to this and then it can replace the skateboarding fat guy as the win gif?

- aightwebang17

Millennial!....

My problem with that was once it got going it didn't allow the normal crowd interactions to happen since as soon as a whistle blew it started. It's fine every now and then but constant it's as annoying as the Montreal ole song

I think Schenn prefers to get 11 minutes at center than 13 minutes at 1LW. Every time he's ever been asked he has said he prefers playing in the middle.

With Couturier out and Raffl dominating possession on the left wing, I would leave Schenn at center and I don't really care what ES line he's on so long as he stays on PP1.

- Feanor

Either way, I want to see more games where he's involved, getting his nose into the dirty areas and being an aggressive forechecker. Whether he's at C or LW, or whatever line it is, the Flyers need him to be a positive impact.

Totally agree.

I worry we wont see the same Schenn as last year since he was playing for a contract. As much as we have the normal bashing of players like Couturier, MacDonald, Manning, Vandevelde, I worry a little about Giroux and Schenn.

I am not going full worry yet but Giroux needs to be more engaged in games. Last night he looked better but he seemed to be less noticeable most games this year. Same with Schenn.

Also is it time to change the PP a little. Maybe provorov at the top of the umbrella and Gostisbehere where Voracek is? There is just no fear of the Voracek one timer there.

Stolarz did OK in his debut. I was impressed with his movement, both laterally and reactive. He generally stayed square to the shots and avoided swimming around on the scrambles he did see. He made a handful of nice saves on moderately difficult shots. He seemed to track the puck pretty well. Rebounds were a bit of an issue at times.

Looks like he has a lot of physical tools to work with, but still needs to refine his game.

- Jsaquella

From what I saw, he seems to hunch over/collapses down too much, especially when trying to get the glove down on low saves . A goalie as big as him shouldn't be showing the top half of the net as much as he does... probably could stand taller like a Bishop/Rinne.

Yeah, with his size he needs to utilize it. There were instances where he hunched a bit. Staying square and upright would be one area he can get better.

"Glad we won. Stolarz played well enough, but a more opportunistic team probably takes that one. In the end, take the 2 points and move on.

What the hell was with the hooting/whistling at the arena last night?"

that started earlier this year. I think I first heard it during the Carolina game in October. Last night was just really louder than previous games. So stupid.

Glad to see Giroux look more engaged.

Also is Laughton starting to become a loss cause? When does patience end?

- J35Bacher

if he is going to be a healthy scratch rather see him go to the Phantoms and call up a veteran guy to be a healthy scratch. if they need someone to step in and play because of injury then call up Laughton or Leier at that point. Laughton needs to be playing

I thought the Flyer's clearly outplayed the Flames. If it wasn't for Johnson the Flyers couldve scored 8 or 9. They had numerous good chances and definitely controlled play.

Really it wasn't much different than several games this year, they just scored enough to overcome the breakdowns/goaltending.

Agreed.

To my eyes the ideal situation when Gordon is healthy is Laughton playing in the AHL getting significant minutes to see if he gets it together, with Lyubimov playing and Gordon scratched.

First goal handcuffed Stolie after a bad pinch by Streit. The other two were just about unstoppable after breakdowns. AMAC and MDZ looked asleep on the PK for Tkachuk's goal. And then that same duo lazily covered a shorthanded chance which leads to the 3rd Flames goal.

If I had one wish it would be that I could drive AMAC to Allentown today and it be a one way trip.

- dragonoffrost

I think he should have had the first one but I chalk that up to nerves. he looked a little nervous at the get go but relaxed after that goal. I was happy with his game. was disappointed they sort of fell asleep at the wheel in the third allowing the last 2. Mason is the guy but I would like to see Stolarz get several starts this year. He very well could be the backup next year.

Speaking of, when does the expansion draft happen? is it before or after free agency starts. Its going to be interesting to see what the Flyers do with the goaltenders. you have to figure Vegas will select 2 NHL goalies (Murray would be one I would think unless the Pens figure out a way to get Fleury to waive his NMC) and then 1-2 prospects. Subban could very well be one from Boston who will protect Rask. I would hate to see the Flyers lose a kid like Stolarz after investing so much time in him as a prospect.

Mason still hasn't found his groove and no need to poop on Stolarz. He clearly has a bunch of things to work on to make it at the NHL level, but he's got time.

I can definitely see him being a target, especially if he shows that he has legit NHL potential.
