The vacuum part is almost right, as you'd need to account for all of those things. However, the angle takes place at a point source, so all other factors are irrelevant.

I thought that only happened if the puck was shot FROM the point...god damnit physics is so confusing

I like Mason and want to see him back next year and I hope Stolarz takes enough steps in his game to be the backup
- nastyflyergirl

i'm good with that. and i think that's what will happen. hell even if neuvirth won the cup for them this year, he'd still probably go.

see: neimi, antti.

sign a guy like you mention like an Emery, protect Stolarz and sign Mason after the expansion draft?
- nastyflyergirl

Why not just resign Neuvirth for one year, rather than a guy who's out of the league? It's not like Neuvirth has the stats to demand a raise.

I was so proud of the C+ I received in high school physics, and that was with open book formulas. Math is hard....

If the season ended today, this would be Steve Mason's second worst year as a pro in terms of save percentage. I expect his numbers to rise quite a bit

I totally miss you almost losing your mind, esp over the idiots that always seemed to sit behind us. We had a guy last night who complained about EVERYTHING. at one point my friend said loud enough "I wonder why he even spent the money to come". a game I went to a few weeks ago, a guy behind us talked about how bad Provorov is. I said what??? loudly at one point.

it's just bad for my health. i mean, the flyers are, in general, but going just is so much worse.

every time i think i miss being there, i remind myself of how i almost fought another flyers fan in the defense of jvr. JVR!!!!!!!

Rebounds happen in hockey and not every rebound is preventable. They happen, and sometimes the rebound goes right onto an opponents stick, unfortunately
- MJL

shots like that are taken with the purpose of having a rebound more than trying to score on the initial shot

dont think Neuvirth would be okay with getting stashed in the AHL

I meant re-sign Neuvirth to platoon with Stolarz in 17-18. I don't think they should re-sign Neuvirth and Mason.

I do too, but I don't think they'll rise enough for him to demand and get 4 or 5 years at $5m from the Flyers.

Maybe 2 years at $4.5m.

i think that is pretty much the best case scenario, but we will see. luckily it looks like it will be a buyer's market

You could do that, as long as you're okay with having him next season if he isn't taken in the draft.

I think he is going to want more than backup money but time will tell I suppose.

But then you run the risk of having Neuvirth taken, then you're scrambling to extend Mason before July 1st.

Stolarz is the one that worries me. They have to expose one goalie signed past this season. Right now, they don't have anyone who fits that bill. If they sign and expose Mason or Neuvirth, they'll get claimed. Do they sign a guy like Emery for the league minimum for a year, expose him, and then have him retire after the expansion draft?
