Paintchips4U has feelings as well. Florida traded for him because they have a bunch of analytics pussies working for them. They should have targeted somebody else
- CanuckDon

So Benning a draft genius who drafted McCann but Florida are pussies for acquiring him a year later?

Those guys are nice, but the team needs some higher end skill, McCann had that. Hopefully they get another one and develop him properly. Might have a Gluck of good dmen shortly.
- LeftCoaster

Not sold on Mcann as top 6. Plus he doesn't fit into middle six role like Sutter and Granlund. But they will bump down as more higher end skilled guys are drafted, developed (like BB & JV) or traded for in this rebuild.

No doubt there. Guance only has size over him.

if only Guance could go to Horvats summer skating school, i do agree that Reinhart is an all around better player , i was just saying to let him be a center and put speed on the wings and he'll be fine .

I, in all honesty, don't see them giving S. Reinhart up unless its a mega deal

Kane/1st/3rd for Tanev/CBJ 2nd

Tanev for Duchesne

Not comfortable with the 1st trade unless at the TDL we r hopeless.
Log jam on D when healthy is kind of nice & would signify a rebuild goin with youth/picks.
Idk if the Sabres deal unless Tanev is in it. Highly unlikely this gets traction.

The 2nd would be ideal getting a 1C with speed to burn & what JB is wanting.

I can hear the boobirds already about Kane but hinges on who JB targets at the draft as well as possible other deals to follow for the expansion draft preparations. No interest in a soft C like RNH playing in our division. Speed speed & more speed needed. Duchsne or Kane brings that. Kane is built for our division is his true value. Resigned at 4m before its nothing more than me rambling on.

I like your first thought just for the 1st if it is this season could be a lotto.
Duchene yes to that too if Avs are willing.

6'2" 211# & can skate & shoot r worthy to explore IMO
If no deal no harm & Tanev stays as a high end asset.

Duchesne ticks off most categories best but unlikely we get him.

If Benning trades for Kane, it would be proof that FA is still very much in control of this team. If that is the case why fire Benning? I would rather Benning continue to draft and ruin this team through trades than get a GM who still ruins this team through trades but can't draft. Fire the owner.

Interesting point...

Occasionally people rationalize on here. I'm glad I didnt miss it.

Yes I agree. Just adding no matter your take on Kane that 1st rounder this season would be awesome. But doubt Buffalo is willing just for Tanev and middle 2nd rounder.

Contract values alone make it plausible.

Does anyone know how to run an owner out of town? not going to the games isn't going to work. They will always sell enough to be profitable, plus with profit sharing in the league, FA is always guaranteed money every year.
- Retinalz

Time.

We didn't like the last owner because he didn't seem to be interested in the team. The Griffiths had an internal cap that made it very difficult to compete in the NHL. Almost all the worthwhile teams had a high or limitless internal cap then... when things are not working out, the fingers would point.

I honestly don't think it's half as bad as people seem to think it is but still think there is some negative pressure wich is pretty common. I just mostly hear people repeating speculation or kept in a state of attention because of the endless baseless crap Botchford throws out there to try and keep his writing relevant.

I knew that would bring you back. McCann is doing nothing in FLA. Maybe he will in the future but right now our defence is infinitely better than it was before he was in the line up.

Its not he really cares about the Canucks and he has since he was a kid. Its not just about money for him its more about him living a dream that any one of us would want. I would have my hands into everything to do with the teams success.(and failures.)

You really have an odd eye for talent in my opinion.

So McCann, who was a more dynamic skater, better shooter, eclipsed Jake's hockey I.Q in every regard and who could naturally distribute the puck is, in your view, not a top 6 player where-as Jake is?

The only true asset Jake has demonstrated, albeit inconsistently, is the fact that he weighs 220 pounds and can skate in a straight line...

Hopefully he finds his offensive game but at this rate he's showing all the hallmarks of a Torre's type grinder at best

That said, I'd still refuse to swap him for Kane.
