eastern media doesn't press for an aaron rome suspension we win the cup, it sucked the life out of the team because it was BS.
- Bettmanhatesus

Many things didn't go our way after game 2. The Rome hit gave them the leverage they needed to allow Boston to do whatever they wanted for the remaining games.

Boychuk breaks Raymonds back…nothing. Seidenberg cracks Bieksas ankle…nothing.

But having said that we didn't push or fight back. AV's philosophy was to kill them on the PP and that was bogus. Lapierre and Torres stopped checking…Hamhuis was out…bringing Malholtra back was a mistake…Lou choking and not being able to steal one game in BOS and choking at home in gm 7. AV was basically out coached for the remaining 5 games. Ehrhoff was -17 in the PO's..many things plus dried up scoring

Yes it's true Buttman and his ass sniffing dog Campbell had it in for us but we were also responsible for not getting it done. We had the team to do it too.

Erhoff was injured throughout the playoffs I believe, got hurt in the first round and never got better. Every round someone else got hurt, I believe Henrik hurt his back in the Nashville series and then Kesler tore his hip labrum in Game 5 of the SJ series. Once Hamhuis got hurt and Rome got suspended we really had no depth on D left and while Lou choked, he really didn't get a lot of help from the D.

You could tell after the first goal in Game 7 that the Canucks had nothing left and that they just wanted it over with, the 4-0 score flattered them.

Picking skill and speed over toughness.
- pker2theend

Ehlers instead of Virtanen

Gillis has one player from the draft, six drafts, on the team, Gaunce, who's anything but skilled. You must be talking about Burke?

Edit: forgot about Hutton

lets face it the whole team except for the twins is available , what Kypreos says just does'nt make JB look like he's a) actively shopping Tanev and b) is in no hurry to make desperation moves

I fully believe he had no idea what he was doing when he drafted Hutton, probably just a real lucky pick.

I forgot Gillis picked him...how could he pick such a good player when he was an absolute failure at drafting.

I feel shame

I honesty don't remember, did Hutton last year get anywhere near as much press as Stecher has this year? Seems they're talking about him every time a nucks game is on HNIC.

It was obviously one of the scouting team. I'd bet a lot of money Gillis just followed a list down that far in the draft. He was clueless.

So just to clarify, Gillis picked Horvat, Hutton & Gaunce out of six drafts. I gotta admit, that still doesn't scream "skill" over size

He royally (frank)ed the whole situation up but we're lucky Horvat landed in Vancouver out of the mess.

True. They had nothing left. The dirty play and injuries won out. Their skill dimished they couldn't do it on the PP either. Really that team with a depleted D and hobbled Sedins and Kessler had no other players to step up that weren't out of the line up. Luongo had no miracle game left for game 7. That's all she wrote after the 1st goal.
