Thanks for your daily dedication and efforts Carol.

LeftCoaster"

I would have said "Amen" but am I allowed to?
(what has our world come to?)

We are pretty "blessed" (am I allowed to say that as well?) to have Carol....I think its the respect she gives to the other teams, and backing it up with facts, and the articles being fun to read. (the voice in my head when reading is of a friend, who knows their sh**....with a female voice of course)

Almost everyday, I get to hear my buddy; who knows their stuff and is able to get a little peek behind the curtain; talk hockey. We are so fricken lucky

Yes I meant 2-3 years from now

We could be dealing with a burst of prospects then with young players breaking out at the same time. I think some contracts will be converted and we'll pick fairly high. Camps 2-3 years from now may be pretty dreamy with the absence of the Sedin's and wide open competition for the top 6.

We can only hope, this team needs new young blood and that includes ownership.

I think it will be fun also. I think we will be okay . You can see signs of it already guys like Bo , Hansen , Hutton starting to step up as team spokesmen.

To be fair, I mean the marginal trades he made like Forsling for Clendenning and Shinkaruk for Granlund, not that they'd have been much of difference makers on the NHL level, but they were effective on the Comets and would have made probably at least better injury call-ups skill-wise than Megna, Skille, Grenier etc.

It just seems like most of the trades he's made were for less high-end potential skill and more two-way hockey skill. Not that that's necessarily bad, but when you stuff your team full of those types of players, you end up with what you've got now, a team that can barely score and is hard-pressed to defend because they can't put enough pressure on to keep the puck in the offensive zone and can't get shots through which immediately puts the team on their heels in transition.

I see where you are going with this and yes that was the thinking on Granlund trade. We had high hopes for Hunter based on his AHL production. But he hasn't shown he can do it in the NHL now with his second organization. Where as Granlund actually has shown more and this on the scoring challenged Canucks.

Forsling trade led to Sutter I guess in part but he did miss on that. Not convinced Forsling is any better then Larson. Plus we probably wouldn't have had space to sign Stecher and prefer him for sure.

I would say JB can't make the trade for high end skill because we haven't had the assets available to do that. Maybe vets like Edler, Tanev and Hanson will be the next group of vets to go for something like that. But to get high end forwards they might be traded for draft picks that will take a while to realize.

The recent free agent signings for Comets like Megna and Chaput was best injury depth JB could get. There is a development gap in prospects that Canucks have and that takes time. Also, our best forward prospects are playing in the NCAA. Which is why you have the biggest lack of young talent to get called up.

It will take a few more years of drafting to change the prospect stock pile plus most will be taken on the team like we are seeing now. JV and BB are the highest skill end drafts by JB. One is now in the minors for a stretch and won't be called up while working on his game. The other in college unavailable.

I had no problem with the old core. Took us to the cup finals. Management provided them with little help.

eastern media doesn't press for an aaron rome suspension we win the cup, it sucked the life out of the team because it was BS.

That sounds like phase 2 of the rebuild. Add in this and 2018 draft and it will be a youth fest for top positions. I just hope our secondary youth layer that was built up here is good enough so it's not the Leafs and Sabers situation.

I like fantasy lineups that are 2-3 years in teh future that include Burrows and Megna man.

It would be crazy to think that we won't sign/trade anyone else for the next 3 years.
