That's like saying Mitch Marner isn't going to score in the nhl because he weighs 170 lbs.

You think a 6mil RNH makes this team turn the corner?

Buffalo scouts still scouting Comets roster. Friedman not sure if they are looking at Jake

- VANTEL

They have to be looking at Virtanen. I can't see Buffalo being that interested in Subban and I would think Demko is untouchable.

I just hope it's not jake for Kane straight up, it's basically the same player for an extra 5mil a year.

Would love to see a Tanev/jake for Kane/Reinhart... that would give Vancouver the offensive boost they need

I think the last two weeks have shown us we are a .500 team. This is what I was expecting in the summer not the team that couldn't score a goal.

I believe we are stuck here in no mans land until the Sedins are gone. We can't move them so sense complaining , let it play itself out. They help us and hurt us in the same game. I / we need to get use to it and this is how it is until the end of next year

- VANTEL

Your pretty much preaching. The first day the roster was set. My prediction was if the team was mostly healthy throughout the year they were a 91 point team. Might squeak into the playoffs.
I thought their division would be close all year long. Which right now they are only 3 games out of first place.
I honestly do believe this team could be capable of something more then they are right now, just not with WD as the coach. His ideas are CHL ideas.

For the past coaches Van has had AV, Torts and now WD. Their styles and what they have said each of them got certain things right.

Playing 4 lines AV did. I love the idea of using a 4th line as long as they aren't literally losing you a game in their 10 minutes a night.

Splitting up the Sedins, I would really like to see tried for a bit. (Torts.) BUT PLEASE DON'T ASK THEM TO PLAY THE PENALTY KILL. Wow was that stupid.

WD (i'm not even sure it's him) but the defensive pairings game has been good. I even like Sutter playing with the Sedin's but not for an entire game. I'd like to see them load up for a period or two, get a lead then put sutter back as a center and move someone up to the wing with the Sedin's.

Ehlers instead of Virtanen

Gillis has one player from the draft, six drafts, on the team, Gaunce, who's anything but skilled. You must be talking about Burke?

Edit: forgot about Hutton

- LeftCoaster

Dr CT and I were both on the Ehlers train but you get what you get and you dont get upset.

I get the idea of trading Tanev or Edler for a good young scorer . I just think RNH is a bad choice.

He also scored his 50 pts playing with Hall and Eberle not Menga and Burrows

- VANTEL

It would all depend on line mates and TOI of course. Not sure WD would be the coach of choice for RNH as he would need non-sheltered minutes to succeed here which I doubt he would get. I don't mind the kid as he can play a decent 200' game, but like you said how would he achieve more than Granlund in the 3-4 C spot?

Dear god!
That screams a large Bloody Mary, well spiced and in a huge tumbler, and a fat weed & hash spliff. Some Miles Davis might help.

and you would also need about 6m going back to the Oilers, which would presumably include a defenceman ++

We have roughly 2+mil in cap space and Tanev is 4.25(?) we would be fine there. RNH would be more of an offseason move for next season. RNH + Boeser could light it up.

If Healthy I thought around 90 pts as well…maybe a sniff of the WC.

But it's clear we are a soft, non-healthy club. Tanev Hansen Edler Dorsett and counting…

We are bang-on pace for around 80 pts which I thought was realistic (80-85pts) for a non-healthy club.

It is what it is.

When we got slammed with all the shutouts and no scoring early in the season it was a wakeup call.

All of those out and still playing .500 hockey. 90 points is slightly above .500. So does that mean this team healthy is capable much more then 90 OR Do those injuried players not make this team any better?

Heard that last night as well, followed by the talking heads yapping about how Jake wouldn't be enough for Kane

JV- 20 years old, almost 20 pounds heavier and seemingly a better skater. 10 NHL games played, 1 assist +1 while hidden somewhere in the bottom 6.

Kane, 25 years old, total douche, UFA in 2 years, paid 5.25 mill, made of glass. 10 NHL games played, 2 assists, -6 when actually playing big minutes in a top 6 role.

Please Benning Nooooooooooooooooo.

A lot of people forget a very similar player who also took a long time to develop.

I doubt Benning will hand the Oilers a contending team for the next 8 years.

Benning would be better off drafting the top center and letting Boeser and him develop together.
