hes that too

but yeah, yours is just one of the many obvious reasons its a silly rumour.
why shake things up now?

plus, we're far from perfect for sure, but we arent absolutely desperate for defence at present and trading from a position of total weakness.

klefbom is turning into a true top pair guy. (id say he unequivocally is already). an maybe even more than that. hes been fantastic lately.
larsson has been a capable shut down guy and a solid partner for him.
nurse is coming around and carrying the 3rd pair. etc etc
plus, we need the offensive depth with nuge.

not happening

- HB77

Yes he has, I've noticed his production lately on my fantasy team. He's going to turn out to be quite a steal if he keeps it up.

Mccabe

Either gorges or an extended kulikov

- homiedclown

Def not Kulikov
He's UFA, so u wait till after the expansion draft...
then sign him

And I think they'd value protecting 4 forwards over just 1 defenseman
Gorges isn't that good

Because they're playing fast and loose with the word "pro". As far as I know it's anyone who's been in the league for 3 years since they first played more than 9 games in one year. So Reinhart's exempt because he didn't play 10 games his first year. It's very convoluted.

Edit: Oh, I thought he got some games in STL. I have no (frank)ing idea, he should be exempt. Unless they're using ELC slide rules...

I guess you're right... my bad!
That's crazy then
We can protect...
Forwards
O'Reilly, Okposo, Kane, Ennis, Foligno, Larsson, Girgensons
-Reinhart & Eichel are exempt
Defensemen
Ristolainen, McCabe, Bogosian
-Kulikov is a UFA & can't be chosen
Goalie
Lehner

That leaves them a choice of:
Moulson, Carrier, Deslauriers, Gorges

Have fun with that Vegas

But you aren't Murray
For example...
I believe u wouldn't protect Kane
But if Murray wouldn't trade Kane to Vancouver bc he "wanted too much"
Then it doesn't make sense that he'd give him up for nothing

As far as what I'd do...
see above post

How the hell is he waiver exempt but not exempt from this draft? If anything i thought the fact that his ELC slid would make it so that he would be?

He doesnt strike me as someone you'd protect in an expansion draft though. Assuming they knew that he was not exempt maybe they're just showcasing? id try and pry a top 6 forward from a team with too many to protect, give them carrier as part of the deal.

It seems weird, but I value him over a guy like D-Lo. There will be some trades made simply because of expansion...we need to come out on top for once.

No worries, but this shows we can get through expansion without losing anyone substantial. To me losing a Larsson or Foligno would be a real shame given where we are.

Ullmark is probably the best piece we risk losing. And it really wouldn't be a huge loss

With the other goalies that will be available, he should not be taken.

Pens, Lightning, Capitals, Blues just to name a few that have solid goalies to take.

I know there's a few who still aren't sold on Foligno...
But with him being relatively healthy, you're seeing him consistently progress into a nice player
Larsson is also coming along nicely

My guess is that if we decide to keep Moulson (for some crazy reason)...
We'd expose either Ennis or Girgensons

Regardless,
It won't be a player any of us will be too upset about
I'm guessing it's Moulson who is exposed

Some teams will be hurting with the guy they lose though...
Nashville & Anaheim come to mind
They'll lose a defenseman they'd definitely like to keep

And there's also teams like Boston & Montreal with good goalies in the AHL that could be chosen
I'd be shocked if we lose Ullmark

Basically,
Anyone who is in their 3rd year of AHL/NHL play will have to be protected or exposed
(to my understanding)
