Im wondering, in the expansion draft it may be possible that vegas does not meet the cap floor. Theyd have to sign a UFA to stupid $ just to make it.
Anyone know the rules etc on this? If youre the league do you punish a team that hasnt even played a single game and is built solely on other teams garbage? ....and just paid you 500M for entry

And I have been on board with moving Edler for awhile now. Ever since we turned down CAR's top ten pick when it was offered for him. There are still teams that would jump at Edler for a middle pairing. MTL…PHI…DET…even BOS has asked about Edler here and there.

Point is there are at least 6 eastern teams that would look at him. It's time for JB to sit him down and ask if he would submit a list of 8 teams.

It would be better for us just to keep Tanev here and get him away from Edler altogether.

This team would be much more worse off without Edler. He is still better then everyone else on the left side. The team isn't tanking. When trade deadline comes around and the canucks are out of the picture, i'm sure JB will be entertaining calls on him.

Oh for sure. I didn't want Dan back. Just hoping that before Edler falls off too much like Dan and becomes worth nothing they can trade Edler.

To me it would come down to waiving at TDL. It would be great to get back some value from him.

Having him on the team may mentor new young Dmen coming into the system but also gives them some bad habits. I actually think a Dcore of Tanev Hutton Guddy Tryamkin Stecher Sbisa can do a good enough job as they grow into decent Dmen

Tanev here for another year or so won't hurt us…just dealing with his injuries all the time now cause he is so bloody soft.

Well there's a huge difference between trading him and losing him for nothing.

All this trade Eller talk is fine...but then at expansion draft who do you protect... Sbisa Biega or Pedan?
I guess if we chose the other option of protecting 8 skater and only protect 2 defenseman and 6 forwards we end up exposing an additional as well.
I am sure Benning is keeping an eye all these scenarios and ramifications.

Btw: I have never liked Edler,but think the team is better with him in the lineup. Guess that does matter though when you are hanging out at bottom of league.
