2nd game of back to back at altitude. seems like a legitimate reason to pull him and could be better for him not wearing down that big body over the long season. - RealityChecker

Listening to Benning on the Radio
Sven injury from a blocked shot out tonight but might go tomorrow.
Virtanen wasn't called up because they want him to settle in with Utica and get a chance to practice with them.
Really important to get Bo signed but that's an internal conversation and won't be giving updates until it is signed.
Hasn't had a chance to see Boeser live yet this year
Linden got a chance to see Joulevi, they want him to get stronger but happy with his development
Fun part of the job is drafting and developing and names only players that he didn't draft Horvat, Hutton, Markstrom, Baertschi - belcherbd
He has a hand in developing them though.
OJ just needs to get a tougher mentality. Never going to be a defender like tryamkin haha |

The Canucks are piling up the injuries. Looks like forward depth is getting depleted. So what's in the pipeline? Will it get better post Sedin era?
So there is the well known BB RW 7g and 9a. But hey he was passed by center Gaudette in NCAA scoring with 7 goals and 10 assists. Add in Speedster LW 6g so far freshman Lockwood looks like a good old college try for Canucks of late.
Then for junior it seems only C McKenzie 27 points is any forward of note. But believe he's bound for Comets next season. He will need to prove scoring against men coming from junior as a older player.
So in a post Sedin Canuck roster what will we have with these prospects? Let's say which is very likely that there is no NHL ready draft pick from 2017 & 2018. Pressure for future forwards has Burr and Hansen get traded for picks this season. Let's say the rebuild to move vet forwards for draft picks continues. Maybe then LE is convinced to waive NTC to leave by next season's TDL.
So what does that leave Canucks with to field a forwards group from their picks and existing young group?
Projected forward group Post Sedin era based on what's in system now.
Baertchi Bo JV - familiar with each other
Granlund Sutter Rodin - what has worked for Sutter
Lockwood Gaudette BB - more of kid line with college guys.
Guance McKenzie Labate - what's left over on draft picks
Why looking above it looks kind of weak in high end forward presence from propect pool. Like no likely 30 plus goal scorers among them. Would have to hope that a number of them get to 20 goal mark. They will have to spread scoring out among top 9 and 4th line chip in a few too.
Got BB in a Kessel like scoring role but he could be switched for JV.
Yes younger team with young line up under 25 except for Sutter. Why without any free agents out there and using up last assets for trades for draft picks will be leave Canucks in a hole.
This draft looks ultra crucial to get a high end scoring forward. Is Patrick the best to offer? Is there anoher unknown Laine type that will rise up this year? Canuck fans need hope for high end scoring break out player. BB isn't enough and will probably need time to adjust to NHL game.
To avoid an even more less then moment the Canucks need at least a couple high end forwards. Next two drafts may not be enough and so either more trades or free agents will pick up the lacking part above. |
