shouldn't leave it for Bozak last man with all other guys standing still.
It's a high-risk play; Carrick should have tried to enter the zone himself or pass to one of the guys at blue line, not leave it to Bozak.

I didn't expect you to understand these simple things though

- MaximusAurelius

That's not carraick fault. that is the play they've drawn up. If you've watched the leafs more than once you'd have seen them run that play 100x

Carrick execute the play as it was drawn up. It's not his fault.

Bozak gave it away, has nothing to do with carrick.

Matthews and Nylander have looked good tonight. Same story though, look good, but not scoring. Hopefully they can keep up this play in the third and get rewarded for it. Oh, and move Hyman off that line ffs. Komarov or Sosh might work. Or Brown.

Looks like Matthews will never score again. He's done enough to get at least a few goals the past 5-10 games or so

Once they start going in for Matthews, a ton of them are gonna go in. He's playing great.

He was fine earlier on this year, had tons of energy. Seems to be slowing down already though. Unfortunate.
- daeth

I don't think he was ever "fine". Have to have more than energy to play. He wins races but nothing comes of it. He ends up giving it away anyways.

He's not doing work for Matthews and getting the puck to him. Matthews chances come off his own hard work. Hyman isn't contributing at all.

With his shot being as good as it is it's a miracle he hasn't at least scored on a harmless looking play at few times by now lol.

If it is then it really calls into question the integrity of the refs.

No doubt this happens league wide.

Exactly - difference is that the other players either enter the zone themselves, or they make the pass earlier (farther away from the blueline).
It was a set play executed badly by Carrick.
The play is drawn up, but the players still need to make the right decision on whether it's ok to make the play.

Hoping to see Leivo on that line with Matthews when he gets back. If that doesn't work I like the Kapanen idea.

incredible how well Matthews is playing and can't get a goal.

as well - never thought I would say this - Gardiner is playing really well (defensively as well)

No.

Carrick nothing to do with bozak giving it away. Carrick executed as he should have.

No reason to point to carrick.

Agreed.

But regardless it was a little flukey that Lindholm batted out of mid air.

Edit: and there is SLOW Polak saving a break away. I actually would love to see Polak and Gardiner race.....I think a few people would be surprised.
