32 almost 33 by the time this kicks in.

Chevaldayoff nailed the contract with Byfuglien. 5 years and a less AAV.

Hopefully JB can extend Edler 8x8 also

And yet discounting a players overall ability and/or future over the course of those same 13 games is valid?
- Whiskey-Tango

I haven't discounted anything. I think Granlund looks like the better player at the NHL level IMO, I was merely commenting on your use at stats being flawed. I think could end up being the better player, JB obviously thought otherwise. Granlund has been very good for us this season IMO, he and Stecher have been a few nice surprises.

Who knows, fact his Shink was taken 24th overall, where-as Granlund was actually passed over by every GM one and a half times (45th).

Again, my argument was all about offensive production, check this out:

Granlund- 121 NHL games played, 0.31 points per game.
Shinkaruk- 13 NHL games played, 0.31 points per game.

Now, if you were a betting man would you wager that if Shink plays the same amount of games as Granlund that his point producer wouldn't increase from it's current sub-par average?

That's why i didn't like the trade, that's why i still currently to not like the trade.
But hey, what's done is done and that's precisely why i think it's best to avoid the issue all together

- Whiskey-Tango

I'm still waiting to see progress in Shink. He showed progress in his last half season in Utica but not enough obviously and was underwhelming the season and a half before that. I havent seen any improvement since he was traded...

On the other hand, I have been watching Granlund improve and be able to play hockey with whom ever they stick him with.

If Edler scored 70-80 points this year, you might not hear many complaints.

Agreed.
Perhaps if he netted that sweet overtime deke versus Chicago we wouldn't be having this conversation

Players like that are so valuable. That's why I think hansen is a perfect depth player.

You base this perception on what?
- Whiskey-Tango

Watching the occasional game. Travis Green's commentary. Following the Utica fans game summaries. Whatever source provided Comets information. I am done talking about Shink. I simply laughed when you said you didn't want to talk about. I am sure you will bring it up next time Shink gets a secondary assist

So which of the prospects developed into what you hoped? Or is this just a couple years ago (aka too soon to tell)
- dbot

The last prospects thread I did was 2012 I think... did it for 6 years maybe...

Nonis and Gillis years... I don't need to remind anyone how poorly we've done with the 1st round in the last 10 years. So, there was quite a bit of hope... and no shortage of disappointment. You know the players...

Nope, just was a double post available for all to read, and then telling someone else about what you double posted. I found it funny is all

What's the scoop on Shink? Is he lighting it up in the AHL? I haven't paid attention. Probably because he's not on the team anymore...

I believe he has had similar production to his last season in Utica (decent). He did manage a secondary assist for Calgary two games ago so that's something. I was saying from the beginning that this would be a nothing trade. I never liked Granlund but it's nice to see him improving.

No. I suggested to my father we head on on one of these mild days this week on Dragon so I can run some treatment through the outboard and catch a few chunky Bows... we might but it's a wind storm right now.

Things we going so good early fall for salmon and steelhead. It was shaping up to be better than what I labelled my ultimate dream season last year. It was insane fishing on the Skeena late Aug and early Sept then the waves of wet weather started to roll in. The next 6 weeks of available fishing time for me went on a pattern of the river blowing out and the weather returning to nice,,, but just as the water would drop and clean up to fishable again, the next wave of wet weather would return blowing out the rivers again.... this repeated over and over til I ran out of time.

I then put together a one-week camping trip in early Nov not far from home. We had one of the most busy trophy lakes to ourselves... not another soul anywhere... but the trip was a bust and my boat trailer is trapped in the woods til spring now... so much F uckery since mid Sept. Horrible finish to what started off as a legendary season. I still had the best trophy trout fishing of my life in the Spring though... I put 5 weeks in on a lake near 100 Mile that was producing several 8 to 12 pound fish daily and occasionally Dad or I would pull in 13 plus pounders... If this lake doesn't winter kill this spring, I'll guarantee that I break my personal best for trout several times next spring... Maybe put a 14 pound plus on a scale... 13.1 is officially my best(possibly beat that once without weighing).

You are such a poop disturber.
We both know that the only two times i have talked, ranted or whined about this was the day the trade happened and today after you made a point of it.

And without getting into it, your sources are garbage

That was a temporary glitch which I erased. I just added to convo with Boon & Whiskey. Wasn't a reposting. But carry on didn't think that was so amusing.

I thought our conversation from yesterday was fruitful. It got blogged today. Had some add ons if you missed them in last thread.

He's played under 60 minutes this season and has a secondary assist. That assist has sparked renewed enthusiasm with whiskey though. He's waiving that point around like a light sabre.
