Yeah, poor Edler, always being moved.
- dbot

Lol, ya kind of lump the 2 together. What I meant is Sutter doesn't want to be traded and Edler refuses too.
My bad.

Frankly, i do still believe its a loss from a position and skill-set point of view, not to mention the timing of the move...

Fact is, it's going to take some time for my 'narrative' to be proven true or false anyways......so stfu

Haha fkn ha.

Shink's skill set? This should be interesting... he has no two way game, is a north south player only, has a decent but not excellent shot, his skating is average at best, plays one position... defensively weak....

Granlund is a way more versatile player who actually has a wider range of skills. I'm not sure Shink is better in any skill to be honest... I think there is a few washes but...

I would hope 3.6 mill a year as a bottom pairing d man would give you more than "decent"
- Codes1087

Oh, I agree. Just saying he's been better. 3.6 mil for a 5/6 dman is crazy. I think JB has tried to trade him since last summer with no takers.

3.6 off the books with Sbisa , 4.5 off for Burrows, and 6 .0 for Miller .

A grand total 14.1 Mil in cap space. Maybe Eriksson has a cousin we can sign

I understand you that the trade was shocking. We were all sold Hunter would be a top line goal scoring machine. But it seems he's not good enough for that. Plus has less to offer in mid to bottom role. Skill or NHL caliber co,parables aside. We have seen more then we realized from Granlund. Also, Granlund at the very least is more versatile playing center or wing and up and down the line up from fourth to second line.

Granlund has actually looked decent this year, still pissed off Gillis didn't take a defenseman with the Shinkaruk pick but at least they got something for him.

I wonder if we'll try that Arizona approach of taking on other teams over priced players, along with a blue chip prospect or draft pick?

That may not sit well with the vets on the team though as that's more of a scorched earth approach.

Is that the narrative that Granlund should be doing better at this point of his career.

Granlund 121 gp
Shinkaruk 13 gp

Or that based upon minutes played there isn't much a difference between these 2 players?

Granlund 313 min played with 7 pts.
Shinkaruk 57 min played with 1 pt.

- belcherbd

Ya, lets just forget that Shink is almost always a healthy scratch on a horrible team.

IKR,

You have to listen to the cry wagon go on and on about losing assets for nothing just to have the wagon driver himself want to throw away Sutter for nothing.

Don't see us as a cap floor team to want that problem

I really hope this is the case, but I suspect FA to F this team in the A, push for another trade heavy offseason after we inevitably do not make the playoffs.

It seems smart to do while rebuilding, if you can afford it. TO has been doing this to some extent and Id imagine will continue to.

Sutter isn't going anywhere. He and Bo are the only sure guys on that list I see them protecting. The other two are questionable.

I don't think he'd agree to a trade, maybe to the Oilers as it's close to home.
