Did anybody think he was signed for his offensive ability
- ob18

Just the GM.

"Dale Weise gives us size (6-foot-2, 206 pounds), gives us some speed, he gives us some tenacious play, he plays with an edge," Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said. "He's got some pretty good hands. He can add to our depth scoring, our top-nine scoring. One of the areas we identified that we wanted to add some depth to [was] our top three lines and we feel we did that with Dale."

No Quotes of course. no didn't think they signed Weise for his offensive ability but I did expect more than 1 assists thru 11 games. I expected the player he was in Montreal. He really doesn't look to fit anywhere so far and is making too much money for what he brings.

Lord Vandevelde is indestructible and has no fear of a mere mortal like Matt Read.
- BiggE

Step 1: Reacquire Zac Rinaldo
Step 2: "Puck retrieval" drills with Rinaldo "forechecking" while LVV retrieves corner dumps
Step 3: "We are very disappointed at the recent events concerning Chris Vanddevlde's decapitation, and have given Zac Rinaldo a medal of honor stern talking to sainthood indefinite suspension.

If Read has 15+ goals and 30+ points. he may be protected.
- jmatchett383

with Read heading into his UFA season next year I honestly would rather protect the younger kids like Cousins/Laughton and Raffl than Read even if he does score 15 and even tho he looks more like the old Read. I don't see them re-signing him

I don't think he gets resigned either, but we're gonna need supplemental offense somewhere next year.

The PK has been bottom five in the league since Hextall took over, and I would love to know what his plan for fixing it is. It seems like a question he should be asked by the media at every opportunity, because it hasn't stopped sucking at any point in his tenure as GM.

Nice for Lappy to get a job where the results don't matter, I guess.

I agree.

Eventually, this has to go from "unfortunate trend" to being viewed as a real issue.

Guess Lappy is like a meteorologist...doesn't make of a difference if he predicts we'll get 2 feet of snow and get nothing instead!

Oh, I agree, but I haven't seen much in the way of progress.

I was more writing about how maybe the organization views this issue.

It seems like steps have been taken to get rid of guys or not resign guys that take needless minors to keep them from being shorthanded too often, so I don't think they are doing nothing. Just not the right things.

I think Kate Bilo could come up with a better PK rotation than Lappy.
