Kane+Gorges for Hutton and a forward? two birds one stone kinda thing
- Sabresfan-365

Please oh god please lol.

I saw somewhere that Tanev was on the trade block this summer so maybe they'd be more open to moving him than Hutton

Hansen, Baertschi, Tanev, Hutton, Virtanen. Any combo of these guys would be great. Dumping Gorges would just be a bonus lol

Trading for Hutton kinda feels like trading for kulikov. An upgrade over what we have right now but doesnt really solve long term problem.

You complain about Sam and you want a guy with one assist all year and has been a healthy scratch more often than playing this season?

My god...

I am all for a trade to get him but not giving up Sam

He's not the answer at all but getting a solid young D for Kane, and maybe dumping Gorges in the process would be great

That seems to be Murray's way though unfortunately. I'd rather Tanev all the way. Hopefully Murray scouted him in Ottawa lol

Strome is 2 years younger than Reinhart. I'd wager he ends up the better NHL'er. He's got more offensive talent

Everyone,

I just want to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you personally.

It's been kind of a rough time for me, lately, and I haven't been myself. It's bright and sunny outside, work is going great, my wife is terrific, the kids are well behaved, but I just can't seem to get out of a funk. Maybe it's a mid life crisis; maybe I'm fighting a bit of depression. I don't know, it's just that there are days when I struggle to even get out of bed. I don't call my parents any more. I stopped going to church years ago. I haven't worked out in months. Instead of going out and spending time with friends, I'm just heading down into the kids' old playroom in the basement, where I sit staring blankly at the TV, eat hot pretzels one after another, and drink, drink, drink, drink drink.

But I have one salvation. No matter what else is getting me down, I spend a few minutes in this thread and I feel completely UPLIFTED. It's like getting hit by a bolt of lightening, the way the energy and enthusiasm that LEAPS off of the computer screen at me from your posts. When everything else feels like a burdensome weight on my shoulders, your witticisms, your repartee, your exhilaration, all the keen and joyful mirth, it transports me to a happier place.

Thank you all. Thank you so very very much.

So we are moving Sam on a gamble that Strome can produce when he hasn't been able too all year?

Get the point? It's a trade just to make a trade at this point and it accomplishes nothing.

I'd definitely have to consider a Sam for Strome swap. It's taking a gamble that Strome ends up being better.

Why?

I don't understand, the Sabres have spent the last 3 years developing Sam, sending him back to juniors, having him play with Eichel at the end of last season, and this year and then you want to cut bait for a guy that might be better offensively but hasn't been able to crack the Arizona Coyotes lineup, a team that has less points than the Sabres have?

Like I said it's a gamble. It could work out really well, or it could fail.

It's all just hypothetical though, I don't see either team wanting to make a move like that.

I don't want the GM of my team to take a gamble like that.

A gamble like trading away a 3rd round pick to talk to a pending college free agent is a good gamble, trading away a former 2nd overall pick for a former 3rd overall pick that can't crack one of the worst teams in the league is not a good gamble.
