There are so many variables that went into last year that I wouldn't think you could isolate causation in any particular stat.

I think he is just grabbing the stick too tight to try to make up for the sh!t storm on the ice

if there was no hustle, I would agree, but I am not sure I see a sabre playing harder up front

I have posted before, he has a trend over 3 years of being one of the worst on ice SV% and shooting% players on either Buffalo or WPG

He plays his sack off, there is no doubt about that. But we see what the Jets fans saw for years - the guy often makes bonehead decisions with the puck and is always just missing the net. If the net were 6 inches wider he would be a 50 goal scorer.

Sure, but the larger the sample size the less the other factors come into play. Those numbers area jaw-dropping.

Honestly, I don't think he called any of his teammates out. He called out the team in general. He said 'we' alot. It sounds no different than what Miller used to say in post-games after a bad loss and no one ever talked how it was a problem.

It's about time someone said something that wasn't the ordinary "got to get pucks to the net, got to get pucks deep, put pucks in the right place, play smarter, got to be harder to play against, etc." (did I miss any of the BS hockey cliches?)
