I think Ghost was scratched because he needed to get a different view of the game....
Maybe what coaches were probably asking for was not translating to his ice view.
They know he is a smart kid and thought maybe he needed to see things from a different perspective.

- Konalover

what view is that exactly? he couldnt have watched the highlights of the game later?

no no no no no....he is struggling...STRUGGLING
- YuenglingJagr

Since he misses the net so much, he should just go full Amac and fire the puck into the defenders skates and pray....

Imo, VDV isn't going anywhere until Hak finally comes to the realization that he's not good at killing penalties.

We can female dog all day about Hak's lineup decisions. But to me, the scariest thing about him, is that he believes PEB and VDV are the top PKer's on this team. Its laughable at this point. Using those two to protect leads at the end of games will also come back to bite them at some point this year.

- JFlyers00

I agree 100%. VdV is getting a lot less ES ice time this year, but is still one of the main PKers.

We can only hope Hextall takes it out of Hak's hands by promoting Leier and/or Laughton and demoting VdV later this season. That is basically what happened with Umberger and Cousins last season, except Umberger could not be waived.

OH poop!!!

Mason with a solid game and Couturier scored.

What the hell are we going to talk about today?!?!?

We could always debate Jeff Carter or Coburn again.

I think about it this way...

Bench VDV and replace him with a better player like Lyubimov, and you see a tangible impact.

- Feanor

100% with you on that...Would much rather see Lyubimov playing right now.

If someone cut my salary this year by more than 6.5% I wouldn't think I'm doing anywhere near as well as last year.
- Scoob

Something apples; something oranges.

His other underlying 5v5 metrics have vastly improved from last year as well.

If that day comes, it can't come soon enough.

Has anyone asked Hak or Hextall why Raffl isn't used on the PK? Or even asked Raffl himself?

You'll get a canned response like:

We have players we believe are more suited for that role.

He was kind of funny in Liar Liar; otherwise, no. He's a poor man's Robin Williams (also a not funny man).

Neither the 5v5 nor the 5v4 stats JFlyers00 put up show an improvement this year.

Whatever.

Fact: he's not playing as well this year as last year.

I liked him in The Truman Show and especially Liar Liar. But the rest is a lot of meh. The first Ace Ventura is funnt as well.

You have to love crazy over-the-top physical comedy or it doesn't work.

I didn't say struggling. But the fact is that he's down more than 6.5% on both measures that JFlyers00 put up. And imho, a greater than 6.5% drop is too close to say "it's the same as last year."

Science has shown that significance only occurs at 7.83%. Anything less above or below is exactly the same.

Without a scatter plot chart to support this I cannot accept it.
