My 'good' hand doesn't have enough skill for that to even matter.

The steady success of the 19-year-old winger has taken some of the attention away from Matthews’ offensive struggles. The 2016 top pick had five shots, a couple good scoring opportunities and played well positionally, but could not find the back of the net past Preds backup Marek Mazanec.

Well done Mike. Marner has shifted attention off of Matthews' offensive struggles, but you are luckily here to remind us about it.

...and perhaps putting an experienced winger like Leo Komarov with Matthews would help him find his way.

So the plan is to help Matthews get over his offensive slump by giving him a linemate that has had almost as much trouble scoring this season as Hyman?

Hyman just needs a break.

Sometimes players just need to play with a little more passion. Get a little angry.

I think the Leafs could really benefit from a raging Hyman.

End the frustration this kid should be sent out West where size means more then speed .... take back a couple Ontairio boys like a nice stud Defenceman and Forward. Make him play on a Americant line.... that'll teach him

We're not trading him to Vancouver. You can trade off assets, tank, and draft your own franchise center.
Not this year though. This belongs to Vegas and I've heard Nolan Patrick isn't really expected by some experts to be a #1 center. Liljegren may be the best choice this year. It'd be great for the leafs to get him to help our blueline, but unlikely unless we get 2nd pick and Vegas takes Patrick.

In all seriousness I don't think there's anything wrong with Matthews' game at all. The goals will come. He's playing extremely well for the start of his rookie season.

Exactly... Vegas is where he should go.... and they can give you another lotto pick. Never thought of the Canucks don't think they need more scoring problems in their line up....plus WD doesn't play any young guys either.

Hmm. It's an interesting idea. You think outside the box. I like that.

I think what we really need is more busts...cough...I mean...star scorers, such as Jake Virtanen on the Leafs. I hear he's been doing so well this year your team decided to send him to Utica to show them all how to play. It sure is lucky Vancouver picked him instead of Nylander.

Do you think Arizona is still pretty happy with their Strome selection?
- daeth

ask in 3-5 tears (i meant years but its too funny to correct). Are the Leafs happy with Matthews instead of Laine? Need some time for that to be answered correctly.

Intangibles man. Intangibles.

Plus it's just east coast media biased. No way the Nucks are one of the worst teams in the NHL. Just you wait until the season starts.
