oh
and
5/ people can't want to have 'climate controle measures' and 'growing economy objectives' at the same time. most of the time the treehuggers are the one that buy a new apple iphone every 2 years and over-consumate just to be hip, while then posting hundreds of 'tweets' about how we should protect the world's scarce resources, being mad about developing african countries that they are still using charcoil to diesel to run their generators for hospitals etc... - MaximusAurelius
And where people kill each other for control over coltan deposits so that said smart phones can be manufactured |

my take-aways from today:
1/ world is better of without religions
2/ US is now oficially a third world country
3/ no politician ever keeps his pre-election promises - so why are people worried of Trump keeping his? only way he could win the US elections was winning over the 'extreme' voters - his whole strategy was based on this. He'll be ok as a president (at least when compared with other US presidents and his opponent)
4/ no idea why people in Europe / Canada kept on supporting Hillary as a 'great candidate' - in Europe she would be considered in the same category as Wilders, Le Pen and the Austrian and Hungarian right-wing politicians.. - MaximusAurelius
WRT (3), The problem is not just what Trump will do, but the fact that he enmpowered and normalized racism, sexism and xenophobia in the larger population. Most of us here are straight white males who have really not experienced any kind of hardship or discrimination because of what we were born, but to visible and religious minorities and the LGBTQ community, this is terrifying.
WRT (4) I think the people that you mentioned are very apt comparables... but for Trump, not Hillary. I do not for one second think that she is a great candidate, but in choosing between a lawyer who has served the country for years and a con-artist businessman with no political experience, it shouldn't even be a discussion. |

But you know that would never have happened.
It is what it is. Lets just wait and see.
So far, its what day 9.....and the sun has come up every day, and we've even had a super moon. The world is still turning/rotating |

This is very true and sad.

And it's so very predictable - we saw exactly the same thing in the UK following Brexit. |
