As great as Konecny was last night, I haven't seen any mention of the 3 on 1 he squandered late in the game . He had Couturier wide open as the trailer and decided to force it with authority over to Provorov. That's a rookie mistake on a crucial play.

Another soft goal.

It's getting old that every game there is at least one.

For two guys playing for contracts, right now it looks like neither one should be resigned.

As I walked out last night I was wondering how TK was third star as he really didn't show on the score sheet. I would have placed Mase there but yeah we know Tim P ain't putting a Flyers goalie there without the shutout cause.... Flyers goalie.

The number of times in the game that Flyers players had open shots down low in the circles and opted to pass into traffic was infuriating. Get the shot on goal, drive the net. It's not pretty but it's how it needs to be done.

Yea, that's going to happen on occasion, and it's the kind of play that will make a coach hesitant to play him in a 3 on 3 situation. Personally, I like creativity, and will just take what little bad comes with all the good. Don't want to stifle creativity. He's already a good player at 19, and is only going to get better. His creativity and competitiveness is top notch.

I would think the Penguins fans are most likely female doging about drafting Murray over Stolarz. That has blown up in their collective faces Ted Kaczynski style.
- PLindbergh31

and what happens in say 2-3 year if Stolarz becomes a really good NHL goalie? tad early to be female doging about that i would think.

and every NHL team can play the we drafted player X over player every draft year. every team passed on ghost at least once in 2013.

At the time of the pass yes, back check was closing in. But they had all kinds of time from just beyond Center ice. It's an example to show that execution on this team is down on a team wide basis. Even for the individuals getting glowing reviews.

We saw what this team was capable of once they got sharp in the second half last season. No reason they shouldn't be even more dangerous with some fine tuning this season.

That should have started in October.

This "finding our game" crap to start every season is mind numbing.

Pretty bothersome. Even worse, is it doesn't seem to be getting better. Ultimately players play, but the coach has to have some responsibility for this team not being sharp at really any point of the current season.

Flyers should have won that game 3-1 or 4-1. You could just see the collective air seep out of the players with their body language on that ridiculous Turris wraparound goal that Mason wasn't even close to stopping.

Jake and Couturier with a slew of turnovers last night but even still that 2nd unit remains the Flyers best line at even strength.

I have not been thrilled with Hakstol's employment of personnel this season in certain instances. Overtime is definitely one of those incidents. I don't think I'd have Streit on the ice at all in overtime. Both 19 year old rookies have shown and proved themselves thus far IMO.

Yeah that was horrible execution by the 19 year old. I believe Jake was in on that rush not Couturier. He should have dropped it back to the middle high slot for Jake and that opens up Jake for a shot or a pass to the either post to TK/Prov. Instead the play dissolved. TSN analyst Ray Ferraro called out TK as a rookie mistake.

Pretty frustrating that this team hasn't had a good start since the 2011-2012 season. Funny enough it's usually November when they start to figure things out.

I think the early schedule gives them a little lee way this season but they will run out of rope fast if it continues.

I haven't seen the replays but I was sitting at that end and Gudas was at the post and couldn't have done less on that Turris goal. Mason might as well have been at the center ice circle waiting for a faceoff. It was emotional deja vu.

Streit is a proven offensive defenseman in this league, and has made some big plays this year. I don't understand why you wouldn't use him in OT.

Oh for heaven's sake do yourself a favor and get a cheese steak at John's Roast Pork. You'll never eat one anywhere else once you've tried theirs.

Ferraro was wrong. Couturier was the trailer. A quicker decision was required but Konecny also limited his own space by taking the puck in too tight. I'm not intending to hold Konecny's feet to the fire here. He's been my favourite part of the season. Just showing he's not superman. He's made plenty of mistakes and will make plenty more.

I still prefer this current start to the season, to the having your best dman suffer a career ending eye injury start.

I bet anything he saw his comrade Provorov with him and wanted to get him his first goal.

That's obviously not what I meant. They were 11-4-3 at the same point in the season.

Provorov has a gigantic stick and it's hard to gauge where to pass it to him
