Umm, its ok that laine is playing great without having to include excuses or reasons that otgers have it tougher. No one said matthews isnt doing well, he is.
Besides, there is pressure in all canuck cities.

It's funny cause Babcock wants Matthews to work on his defensive role more right now because he knows his offense doesn't need attention. Just like Babcock was working close with Kadri to be more than just a free flowing skater with no appropriate role. Goals will obviously come for Matthews but right now this needs to be a "second thought" when playing. As they showed last night on screen, his faceoffs is getting amazing and that itself is a toughload. Going from 48% to 56% in the last 6 games against veteran centermen is pretty impressive.

IMO you can't compare Laine and Matthews. Both players are way too different. Comparing Laine and Marner would make more sense as their both wingers and are used to score goals.
