I sure do want to see this team succeed, be consistent and start competing but anyone who thinks even a healthy Eichel all season on this team and we'd be lights out this year is out of their mind. This team is fundamentally flawed and a good part of that is coaching as of right now. But there are several players just floating around every shift, let alone game. The entire team is afraid to skate up the ice with the puck except Ristolainen and half of them try to make almost blatant low percentage up ice passes as soon as they get the puck.

Looks like a lack of leadership, a lack of confidence and a lack of an actual system.

This team is a poop show.

It's maddening. Not panicking. I hope to god that Eichel comes back and boom, the team clicks, but we are not making the playoffs this season from the look of things, with him or not.

For one, we have been awful at home and the crowd is lame. Absolutely silent the entire game.

Maybe there is a reason for that saying: Sabres season doesn't start until Bills season ends.

I'd argue that every team that does not win the Cup is fundamentally flawed. The issue is, what is done about it? Twenty nine teams every year look within and try to figure out what can fix the flaws, and only one finds the answers at a time.

I vote stay the course, a thousand points of light, trim the fat on the roster, keep developing the kids, and in the meantime take a deep breath and try to enjoy some hockey games. I doubt that any modern team has won anything as the second-youngest team in the league.

This is a rational post. However Broads does have a point that while the age might be young there are guys like ROR who is 25 and have played 500 games.

The fat in this case are guys like Franson, Gorges, Girgensons, Ennis who haven't done poop this year.

I really can't complain about Gionta's play except the coaches use of him in OT and that's not Gionta's fault.
