No one is rushing him. It is 6-8 weeks time he would miss.

It is week 5. he is probably still at least a week away from returning.

Which would be when?

- ImThatGuy

They should keep him out for the whole year Till he's fully healed which he won't be
So yes that is rushing him

So if this was Jack struggling no one here would complain ?

He was drafted to put up points not be Sammy pahlsson

This sounds so familiar When people would say grigorenko is playing good

Then people would he was drafted to score

Hypocrites

- GERBE!!!75PTS

Let's make this clear right now junior.

Grigorenko was never playing as well defensively as Reinhart.

Reinhart has more points than Bergeron so relax.

IMO, with Jack he's a 50 point good 2 way player. Without him, he looks like a good complimentary guy

Right now, this is too much. I won't blame them for getting blown out (if they do)

But just missing Eichel and Kane, while sucks, shouldn't mean never scoring

- sbroads24

The problem is the style of play the coach is going with due to the injuries hampers scoring overall, and with a team that doesn't exactly light the world on fire regarding scoring normally when fully healthy, it's going to look very ugly.

His coaching style is that of hanging on for dear life right now.

That said, I'm going to try and go optimistic with the following.

The team very likely needs one more top 8 draft pick kind of draft and the injuries and struggling will only make that more of a reality.

Maybe Sam's struggles reduce the weight of his next contract, which many assumed would be big.

Finally, and most importantly, getting to see all the young guys play and see what they have when they almost certainly would not have been given this long of a look had the team been fully healthy and playing well is a big positive.

All in all, if I had to choose between being an 8th seed bubble playoff team and getting another top 8 pick draft along with seeing how much all the young guys have as players, I would choose the second option while still rooting for the team to win.

He should be a 15-20 goal 30 assist guy. That is what he was always projected as, a guy with more assists than goals.

Last year was weird.

I sure do want to see this team succeed, be consistent and start competing but anyone who thinks even a healthy Eichel all season on this team and we'd be lights out this year is out of their mind. This team is fundamentally flawed and a good part of that is coaching as of right now. But there are several players just floating around every shift, let alone game. The entire team is afraid to skate up the ice with the puck except Ristolainen and half of them try to make almost blatant low percentage up ice passes as soon as they get the puck.

Looks like a lack of leadership, a lack of confidence and a lack of an actual system.

This team is a poop show.

It's maddening. Not panicking. I hope to god that Eichel comes back and boom, the team clicks, but we are not making the playoffs this season from the look of things, with him or not.

For one, we have been awful at home and the crowd is lame. Absolutely silent the entire game.

Maybe there is a reason for that saying: Sabres season doesn't start until Bills season ends.

I'm happy we "tanked " for him then if everyone in The organization knew this

And people don't want to trade him for OEL

Agreed, and I thought of this too last week (to myself)

I think this team very much needs another high end talent up front and on defense

Absolutely agree, and I believe we both think the best way to get that talent is via the draft.

They don't need the number one pick this year, just a top 8, and preferably top 5 pick in multiple rounds would be a great help.

it's really a bad year to tank the draft is supposed to be at the level of 2012

Just one good franchise player in Patrick

next year is the strong one

there's talent in the organization, but murray and co. are not going to rush things...

think of the sabres as having a high ankle sprain...they could rush the youngins, just like jack could be in a rush to get back on the ice...but they're not going to do it for short-term gain

holy poop.. i am getting really (frank)ing sick of all these young people female doging and complaining and using stupid statements like this to try to make their point. i look forward to the day that you grow up, get a job and realize that not everything in this world is lollipops and gum drops.. sometimes things don't go your way, you get kicked the ball sack.. you have to take what you have and work with it. Stop complaining and look for something good out of it. Otherwise you will have a heart attack at age 30 in your parents basement on welfare

EDIT: someone please ban me for a while so i don't have a reason to come back

On Thanksgiving, they were tied for a playoff spot.

- buffalofan19

According to your source they were in ninth place.

And I still don't think your source addresses the point of my observation, which - for the sake of clarity - is this: A team does not have to solidify its place as a playoff contender as early as you have suggested.

Listen it can always be worse. You can the Islanders with no direction. I see great things for this team looking on the outside. Does the team have holes? Of course they do every team does they are not perfect but this is going to be a team to mess with real soon. Eichel is one of the top players in the league you made some key additions. I dont know why anyone would be upset over this team nothing but good things with this team

A) Are you German and do you like to drink alcohol? Do you pay attention to anthem singers and generally goof up math issues? Are you more than 50 years old?

B) Even if (A) is no, you probably won't last very long around here.
