Lehner's not going anywhere, not least because we have no one to take his place at the moment, or likely for the next couple years at least.

While I like Nilsson and believe he's a capable goalie in this league, he's done this before, he was lights out for Edmonton last year, until he wasn't and then it was very, very bad. And he was also the best goalie in the KHL the year he played there. So he definitely has the talent to be a starting caliber goalie in the NHL, it's just a matter of can he put it together?

Just like Myers wasn't being shopped. They can say that and be totally honest, but it doesn't mean there aren't other teams, though God knows why, calling about Kane.

I think you're correct if you're talking about Chicago or Pittsburg. Once you have speed and star power you have the refs on your side. Then it works. Otherwise you're a pushover team like Buffalo that the league doesn't give two poops about.

Pegula did the same thing with doug whaley, he has no sports sense. He is in way over his head. I have said a million times, the franchises that get the smart gms and coaches dominate. The other 75% of all teams have no chance. Sports is a graveyard for coaches and gms that couldn t do anything else in life. They are lifers who were willing to make 10,000 to 20,000 a year in east chattanooga community college. They had no other choices in life. They get lucky and then it becomes a buddy system. The retreads keep happening over and over. Jeff fisher,rex ryan,john torteralla and the list goes on. It takes a smart owner to identify the smart people who have a plan. The bills think the 20 minute trade of lesean mccoy was a steal. The guy didnt want to come here. We renegotiate his contract and he is injured minimum 4 games a year. Running back are dime a dozen. Charles clay has made 27 million dollars in 1 year because of restructuring. The sammi watkins trade,wide receivers dont make your team better,quarterbacks and offensive lines do. Khalil mack was in your back yard,he is one of the 2 most dominate defensive players in football,we dont draft him. We draft sammi fragile,dime a dozen watkins. Doug whaley the genius doesnt put and out clause in marcell blunt fat butt last dareus contract. How do you not do that

Do they watch the same team we do ? The team going to go to some secret passing/shooting school over the summer .

I don't think it's quite as extreme as this. I think Kane, Girgensons, and Ennis need to go. An upgrade at D would be nice if its available to so your 2nd and 3rd pairings look better.

Id believe it

So the Sabres are missing Ennis, OReilly, Eichel, Kulikov, Bogosian, and Fasching.

Last season alone, they account for 2.6 pts/game. It's not nothing.

Now, that could be satisfied (per game) on one goal, so it might not mean that much, but it is not nothing.

I do wish we would play better, but I think I speak for most people on here at the begining of the year, keep Bailey, Baptiste, Nylander (or Carrier/Fashing) up with Sabres so they gain experience even if that means losses. Well guess where we are?

Do I wish we were better? Of course, but to expect all the young guys to switch in perfectly, that is a tough task. Ask Toronto. They have all the young guys, sure they score some goals, but give up a lot too, so the players are not perfect.

That part i dont mind. Priorities are right too, just ditch the two ex jets.

Honestly, he could have just made the O'Reilly trade and this team would be no worse off than it is now. Kulikov for Pysyk wasn't a bad trade, but I don't think it makes a material impact either. I'll even concede him the 21st overall for Lehner trade, which is still a bad move in theory, but isn't hurting them at the moment. And I don't buy for a second that the Sabres wouldn't have finished dead last if they hadn't made that trade with Winnipeg.

That's becoming more and more obvious about Pegula and co. They just don't hire quality people. Then the complete lack of regard for player integrity. Whether it's drugs, run ins with the police and otherwise.
