I think I hate this team more than the tanked years. At least then we were designed to suck. Byslma needs to do a drill of keeping the (frank)ing puck in the zone especially when you're on the power play. I've seen so many passes where the puck skips off the morons stick and out of the zone. It's (frank)ing pathetic pee wee crap and something that shouldn't be tolerated.

Do you want the honest reason that happens?

The patterns on these blades for forwards are made for shooting, keeping a pass flat is extremely difficult. The patterns that I sell at my pro shop are insane. I hate them all.

I do understand that and agree with it. I think Pitt got their core established then started the trades, same thing with Chicago. I was looking at their drafting from 2000 - 2010 they had something like 13 or 14 first round picks with like 7 of them being top 10.

I think some of us, myself included, got excited with that point jump last year and expected a similar number or at least to get to 95 as we were led to believe, but I think we know that's not going to happen.

As has been beaten to death at this point... Injuries at the top of the lineup force everyone to play up a level than their talent. So you have guys like Grant on the PP, or Foligno Larsson and Gionta on the 2nd line. Yes, there will always be someone hurt, but it's extremely unlikely that it will be your 2 best centers, and 2 of your top 4 defenseman. That's nigh on impossible for any team to overcome, let alone a team that is in year 2 of actually trying to win after an all time tank job.

How are the top 5 draft picks looking this year? (other than Nolan)

agreed. poor passing, poor setup, poor shot selection, just overall weak in every facet of the pp. this team is content with being bad. It's easy to be bad, it's hard to be good and this team seems to not care about working hard to be good.

People can hate me for bringing this up, but Winnipeg is hammering Chicago 4-0, Toronto put up 6 on Nashville, and we can't get 2 goals. Depressing

Yeah, players can't actually use their wrists to get the puck up anymore so they have stupid curves on their sticks that are designed to make the puck go up, that's not great for keeping a pass flat, or receiving a pass either. We need to bring Gilbert back in to teach these guys how to shoot the (frank)ing puck without a stupid(exaggerated, curves can be good) curve on their stick.

We agree, if you follow my post history on the topic, most people are comparing the Sabres tank to Pitt/Chicago. You really can't, they were bottom feeders much longer. We may be looking at another top five pick this year, though as you state accurately, people will be getting healthy and it's early.

It just looks like playoff hopes this year are fading or completely gone. Who knows what would have happened without the injuries, but we'll never know.

I watch almost all of the playoffs and any game on NHL network late at night if I'm up and bored. Sure it happens occasionally for those teams but I see it very regularly with the Sabres Franson is a prime culprit of this but Risto has had it happen to him many times this year too

There's still 80% of the season left though. The "you know what you are by Thanksgiving" isn't really a thing. There are plenty of teams that start off very slowly for a multitude of reasons, but then get it together a bit later.

I'd like to research that out, I've always heard that around Christmas most playoff teams are already set, there is a little shuffling, but a very small amount.

I'd like to see how true that is, but then I remember, I dang near 40 and have way more important stuff to do.

Gerbs?? Can you handle that? Prior to pooping on Murray's lawn?

At this point I don't care if they're ready I'm ready to give Pu, Nylander, Bailey and Estphan a shot here next year. Some kids who can actually score. Adress defense in trades/free agency get rid of scoreless wonders Girgensons,Ennis, Gionta Kane etc.

Yeah, no doubt they need to work on passing, both the guys passing, and the guys taking the pass.(there's really no way to say that without sounding dirty is there?) But when you're team is losing you're looking at things they don't do well, which isn't wrong, but when the team is winning you generally let those types of things slide.

To be perfectly honest, a lot of this.

People were going B.S.I to start the season, they they went on the run that put them over 500 for the first time in a long time, and the naysying got quiet...

It's picking up again.

Never as bad as everyone makes out, never as good either.

Considering we haven't been winning since 2011 I'd say I've had the "unique" opportunity to really "look" at this team.....
