He only fetches a 2nd if we're selling at the deadline. The big thing is where will we be? The last thing this team needs is a late run to 9th place and we don't sell our UFA assets at the deadline, it would be a worse case scenario. I really hope they make the decision by Jan 1st to be serious about playoffs (making trades or doing whatever you have to in order to make this happen) or full tank mode, anything else is unthinkable.

I didn't think of the extension route to be honest. Mostly, because Im not sure if
1.) he wants to play for us
2.) wants to test free agency
3.) sign him for the right amount

As I said earlier, once you get to Thanksgiving, it's pretty clear whether you are a contender for a playoff spot or not.

Right now it's tough. Not many can overcome O'Reilly and Eichel.

I don't think Bogo or Kulikov are huge losses.

But, this team has serious flaws

Take the top 2 centers out of the lineup for every team. I bet most if not all would struggle.

I think people are blowing this way out of proportion.

I am not going to get concerned until after we see Eichel and ROR come back into the lineup and they are only scoring 1-2 goals a game.

They need to step up A team assembled not so long ago doesn't have the experienced depth other teams have if a couple top liners go down.

I still believe we need to acquire more high-end talent at the top of the draft, and should be looking at how we're going to get to picking#1 or #2 without the whole world coming down on us again. After all, tanking is only a Buffalo thing.
