Is it really one person
Kulikov
Kane
Bogo
ROR
Have missed significant time now.
Ennis out for extended period, crushed the come-back hope.
I'd say more that one guy for sure.

Aside from O'Reilly, the production of everyone on this list (or rather lack thereof) when they were healthy, should make them easily replaceable. That's what deep teams do. You have to be deep to be good. And this team's lack of depth is painfully obvious.

There's two 20 goal scorers on that list. And a guy that's supposed to be on your top D pair. While you can get guys to fill in typically and not hurt the team, they're typically not as productive as the ones they're replacing.

And where exactly has Colorado been the last few years? Did they not fire a coach and have there GM criticized? Or is that just acceptable in Buffalo because we never have any expectations?

Edit : Roy respectfully resigned

Team was torn down for a rebuild . The depth we had was ahl players and nothing special. Got rid of them and replaced with new promising players . Some expected when that was done we should be a contender. Like it happens overnight.

Are we talking about the entire team now, or just Sam?

the moulsons, giontas, ennis, larsson, girgens, foligno

that was suppose to be the depth

I still blame the coach more than the players

And that's the problem. The guys that are missing aren't overwhelmingly productive to begin with.

The other thing is this. With the loser point nowadays, it's very hard to get into the playoffs when out of the top 8 once you hit US Thanksgiving. That's next week. Injuries or not, you need to figure out a way to get past them. 7 goals in 6 games, with the toughest stretch of the schedule so far to date coming up (St. Louis, Tampa, Pittsburgh). If they don't figure out a way to get at least 3 out 6 points, they're in a deep, deep, hole. And even that might not be enough.

I bet Joel Armia would make a difference.

All of it. Do you think people were happy with MacKinnon during his sophomore slump (when he was over a full year younger than Sam BTW)

A. NO ONE here has tried to "Run Sam out of town"
B. Saying he should do more is correct

That team tear down was 2 years ago. They rebuild has been around the forward group, and a #1 defenseman whose offensive abilities exceed his defensive abilities, and yet they are tied for dead last in scoring. Something's not right, and it's not just injuries. It's either coaching, roster makeup, or both.

EDIT: I guess they're 29th in scoring now. Still nowhere near acceptable.

what is a realistic expectation for a player on the 3rd line

3 points in 10 games?

again I blame the coach

Replace D-lo, Girgensons, Grant, Ennis.

With Nylander, Baptiste, Bailey, Fasching

I think we have more scoring.

So 20 goal scorers aren't considered productive? I'm not sure what NHL you're watching, but the one I've been watching doesn't exactly scream at me with high offensive numbers. There were only 28 players that had 30+ goals last year.
