The conversation today got me thinking of what this team would look like if Murray made no trade that gave away our prospects and we just worked with what was in our system. We might look something like this.

I think he would have, Moulson is his best friend and Jack still could have sold him - sbroads24
Maybe he would have. But I'm sure liking a team made up of what we had and let the prospects battle for roster spots, as opposed to what we have now. Kane and Bogo RoR is great, but we sure paid a lot to get him. And if I could get McNabb and those two 2nds back for Fashing I'd do it in heartbeat.

Forgot about Myers would still be here. But you can't guarantee we would have had Laine or Matthews, but yeah, odds say we would have had one. - sskkoo1
There isn't a GM in this league that would have sat back and not done anything. I liked your concept but again with all of the complaining done this season already could you imagine this place if that was the roster??

***IF*** we were bad enough to get top 3 last year with that lineup....
Having Jack/Sam/Laine or the other 2 plus Roslovic/White/Compher/Lemiuex/ the 31st pick in 2015 all in the pipeline? I'd say that's an embarrassment of riches to do some dealing

Armia is not a first or second line winger
Grigorenko is not a top 2 center
Baptiste and Bailey aren't ready
Girgensons is hot garbage
Zadorov is not a top pairing
You're missing Myers...
There are no goalies - Stripes77
I'm saying we'd be working with what we have. Arimia would have to be at least on the second line. You could move Reinhart to 2C and move Gregorenko to wing. Yes, I forgot about Myers, maybe him and Risto would be the top pair, move zads down. And goalies, we could still have traded #21 for Lehner.

Then you would complain that whoever the GM is, traded away the prospect pool...

It's just a hypothetical to shoot the chit about, nothing else to do today. But it would be interesting to see the team that would be iced by now if it were just our guys via draft.
