The sad thing is a lot of people probably don't have a good grasp of the electoral college, I know I didn't until I researched into it and studied it a bit.

My wife asked me today what is an electoral college. I told her it was a school that makes you smarter by injecting voltage into its students.

She wanted to know if that was legal

She actually sounds adorable.

Reaching for the truth is something we do here in the Nucks thread!!

Well if your going by potential goals than you should be adding goals to players like Bennett tkachuk etc who will produce more than they did over the past 3 years

This whole 3 year of production theory you have is kinda out in left field I think

TBH they are sucking because of their special teams play ...they are getting more than adequate secondary scoring

Calling the fence sitting Trump supporters "A basket of deplorables" cost Hillary dearly. Look at working class states like Michigan and Wisconsin who were sitting on the fence trying to decide if political correctness was more important than feeding their family. Those two states were Democrat for the last 20 years or so. Both candidates worked a divide...

- boonerbuck

I've lived in the States for 16 years now so I seen a lot from Arizona to NYC. A lot of factors played here. It's a divided nation.

She took that comment back right away. It was over the racist types out there not the working class. But Trump used that and made thousands of awful statements and there is no comparable.

She was not a populist candidate and represented the elite or insider to those people who turned in those few States. Trump sold them a basket of false hope just like his failed university that is under prosecution. The economy and world has changed and left them behind years ago under the Bush administration. After the great crash of 2008 Obama cleaned up some of the mess but the clock can't be turned back.

Anyway ... Trump tapped into the worst emotions of people and played the win at all costs game. If he carries out campaign promised economic polices it will benefit the rich not the working class just like Reagan trickle down didn't help them either. More jobs were shipped out from closing factories under Reagan. It will be interesting to see what really happens that now Trump has to govern.

I thought this from the very first challenge he threw at me. He posts just like Nucker and I respond the same way.

I like Nucker4u, just have to swat him once in a while like old times.

Okay ... 😂 Get the humor.

Just for the record I am a new poster not some reincarnation of any past poster.

So very misunderstood... labels don't become me... 👊🏽✌🏽️

Nothing but respect for all the posters no matter there views ... we are all fans ... some rabid intercourse doesn't necessarily mean discourse and opposition.... just looking at things from different angles.

In the end no one here can ever claim to really know any true answers. We are just fans passionate about wanting to see things happen and the team improve and succeed. The how, when and why is the fun of our banter on the subject.

🍻🍻🍻 to all!

Most people have no clue and they barely teach it in the States. Why those who won say they have a mandate and the people have spoken when the popular vote was against their candidate. Electoral College for President is supposed to protect minority State rights which goes against equality of votes concept.

But there is a lot of voter suppression going on. Having to line up for 5/6 hours to vote and you don't have the day off doesn't favor urban areas over rural areas. Plus areas that have non republican registered voter got less polling stations to vote and had long lines too. For a largely apathetic nation it's an easy excuse not to show up. Most people didn't vote. Those inspired by an agenda showed up more. Looks like reality TV type messages was a greater pull.

91 million eligible voters didn't vote

Electoral College was an idea of the founders of the United States of American...it was to ensure smaller states votes matter, so all people from all areas mattered. If it was a simple majority the North East, Texas, Florida and California could decide the fate of the country forever and a day. That's not equality!

Everyone needs to get over this election BS. Everywhere I go look some whiney little B!tch is complaining saying President Trump is gonna take away their rights and he is Hilter. Gimme a F@cking break. Pu$sies who got metals just for participating are out there rioting protesting because the electoral process didn't work for them. Self entitled millennial P@ssies. I don't remember any riots when Obama was elected. This is democracy deal with it. Happy or not move on, the world isn't coming to an end. What this shows me though is all the social engineering the media pushed didn't work and that is a positive. #tolerantleft

I was going to bring Bennett and Tkachuk into it but there's no point…dude…you have lost goals and haven't replaced them…it's not that difficult to figure out.

Sure you have special teams issues but still…

Flames have averaged over 229 goals over the past season or even three seasons if you want to split hairs. You are now on pace for 185.

Resting the case.

Yeah the non voting had to do with what I said ... it's a shame.

Just adding a refinement to what you said below here.

The equality of the system works in the make up Congress. It protects all those smaller states. Look at how many congressmen or Senators heading up legislative or cabinet committees are from these smaller states.

But how can you have equality if the minority rules over the majority. Local interests deciding the top position and executive is not a mandate of the people by the people. The Congress make up ensures smaller states rights are represented. It devalues the equality of a vote for the majority of people in thinking their vote counts when it comes to a national election of president. That person is supposed to represent the majority of the people all over the country not a select few.

It happens in a lot of democratic states, Canada included, the Tories governed for years with a slim minority of the popular vote.

And as far as "a select few" the votes were around 60 million to 61 million, it wasn't a select few.

You take things too serious, sometimes just laugh stuff off. I was joking when I said "thanks tips", not everything needs an explanation.

As for Desjardins, the sound of the crowd chanting "fire Willie fire Willie" would be sweet music to my ears

You misunderstand me, old not so wise one. I am not a WD cheerleader or Burrows (get that Donna) or JB's or whoever the flavour of the day that people seem to gang up on. I am actually championing the cause of a sarcastic devils advocate.

I'll post stupid outrageous sarcastic responses or carry on a certain path to hopefully show the closed minded, idiotic thoughts that are posted and then regarded as fact or presented as if the person posting is the only individual that is the one that has this expertise and insight on how to solve all the issues surrounding the Canucks.

I used to do the same with DCT back when he would post his rhetoric.

Nice rant. It doesn't make him any less vile and people have as much right to b*tch as they do to cheer.
