Don't worry it's only been 13 games everything will be fine .

Our injury bug is hitting us hard now, but usually this happens to most teams every year.

The Kings are out Gaborik and Quick

The Jets were out Trouba, Little, Perrault

The Stars are missing half of there team

Yeah, it pretty much feels like an epidemic for either team.

To many players on this team that can't score goals, to many 3rd and 4th line players. If we are depending on Carrier and players like him to win games, we are in bigger trouble then I thought. and I have been pretty positive about this team with Eichel, Bogo and Kane being out.

I only watched a bit of the game

seemed like the coach had a plan to hold on to the 1-0 lead

I hate that, go for that second goal

You and I clearly have different views on pretty damn good. Kane looked skiddish in his first game back, but looked like he was back to his out of control self tonight. Player should must hate playing with him knowing he is a black hole for the puck.

You seem to know a lot about injuries, were you a med major?. I'm just a layman, but Schopp talked about a doctor who said Shady had a 40% chance to reinjure his hammy if he played within 2 weeks of the injury. Pretty good probability and sure enough, he reinjured it. Maybe some medical staffs would hold a stronger opinion and would elect to hold a player out regardless how good he said he felt. That doesn't sound out of the realm of possibility. And different therapy or conditioning practices could definitely have different outcomes for the health of a sports team's players.

I've had a lot of injuries and surgeries so a lot of time to talk to orthopedists and physical therapists, and I was also a bio major when I was in school. The latter had a lot to do with the former.

What I meant by "pretty damn good" was that he looked like his old self, flying into guys at the boards. Something a player with injured ribs would be hesitant to do, and he looked fast too.

The bolded above isn't really reality. In reality there are no definite timelines for injuries. So 14 days or less and he can re-injure it, but on day 15 he's totally fine? That sounds kind of stupid right? But McCoy looked really good last week, so I don't know if he necessarily re-injured it or just wasn't ready to play at that point, and came out of the game because he was very ineffective in that game. I know a lot of people think that with the level of tech we have now that medicine should be that exact, but it's not. Everyone heals differently, some people heal very quickly, some don't at all. It's a frustrating thing for a doctor to do everything they can to fix someone only for them to not get better, or even get worse. And to do the same thing for someone else only for them to recover completely in record time with no lasting effects. That's partly because no 2 injuries are ever the same. Even if someone has multiple injuries of the same type over time they may have vastly different experiences in healing at different times. Medicine is still very much an art as well as science where doctors use experience and statistics to tell you when and how you'll most likely recover, but that everyone individually is different. Sometimes you'll hear 6-8 weeks for an injury. If you think about it that's a variance of 33% on the sooner side if they heal at 6 weeks. That's huge. If your plumber said it will cost $600 to $800 to fix that sewer pipe you would not be happy with that estimate. Doctor's don't like to admit that a lot of time they just make poop up based on the averages. It's much the same with cancer diagnoses. They'll say someone has 6 months to live, but 10 years later and they're still going strong. And at that point the doctor will just shrug and say "it happens".

Yes, for sure there are bad doctors and therapists out there, but it's also statistics. Guys will get hurt and some will return too early. That it has happened to some star players for the Bills and Sabres is unfortunate, but really that's all it is. I know the Bills and Sabres doctor, one of them anyway, they have a few each. Dr. Bisson has worked for both teams for a while. He's a top notch orthopedist in the area. He's the chair of orthopedics at UB and got his MD at Johns Hopkins. And he's got a really good reputation. You don't do all that and be a bad doctor.

he never had a plan B for Vesey, I think Ennis in the top 6 was his plan B

in many ways, murray is a lot like darcy, as they both hold on to their own

side note, legwand is ready to sign
