Panarin's bonuses were supposed to hurt them this season... but noooooo someone signs there for dirt cheap to try and help them win another title. - Guile
I'm interested in seeing what he signs for after 2 huge scoring seasons.
After seeing what Voracek, and then Tarasenko signed for especially.
Even if his agent plays fair, it's way more than they can afford. |

In my mind... hes looking like he will get 6 mil a year. He'll be 26 or 27... so they won't mess around with the bridge deal junk. He will likely end up the same type of trade to sign situation Saad was. |

If he repeats or gets close to last year I think he'll be in the upper 6's low 7's. 77 pts last year, Saad's career high was 53 |

Saad got overpayed, and was a bit younger... Panarin is where the 6 mil value "should" be to me. |

Another team with cap problems that spawns stars out of nowhere, who produce while earning peanuts.
Lose Sharp - enter Saad
lose Saad - enter Panarin
I'm pissed off this morning. - puckhead17
I wouldn't feel so bad. Looks like the Flyers will be doing the same thing with defence men over the next decade or so. |

If he scores close to a point a game again, $6m is the floor and it could be as much as $8m. |

True, but I think the way contracts are going he'll get at least 6.5 and wouldn't be surprised if it creeps into the 7s should he have another 70+ pt season. He's about a year older than Saad |

You are misunderstanding my point of the age difference a bit... but yes, hes only a year older than Saad. But he will be signing his deal, at near 3 years older than when Saad did.
I can look at 23-24 year old Saad and think hes still got a bit more to improve. 26-27 Panarin I believe is at his peak.
That's why those big deals on younger players are risky, paying for the potential a bit too much at times. |

Nick Cousins is actually 3rd on the team right now in points/60, for what it's worth. (Manning is 5th, full disclosure) I think it is very good that he is in the lineup.
The other beautiful thing is that Jake and Giroux are tied in points and play on separate lines. At lot of those points have come on the PP, but it is seriously such a luxury that they can be on separate lines. - YuenglingJagr
absolutely. we've been screaming for more depth to open things up. |

quite possibly, however, dmen are a more hot commodity so they should be able to move one or two assuming they all hit which is unlikely. |

Well they are currently carrying over 3M in carryover bonus money from last season, and currently sit with 59,000 in cap space. They have some maneuverability though.

I agree with you, I did't think Saad was worth that much either.
Nice player but not for $6m a year |

yesterday sucked. today sucks. JFC, i hate november.
i saw this video of pelle yesterday which contained a clip of him being interviewed in swedish when he was a still kid, maybe 12, in black and white, he was on the ice. i was in my car watching this and just there and cried. it still upsets me so much.
anyway....regarding the present...would really enjoy a flyers win tonight. where they take a lead and don't give it up. and mason plays another strong game.
thrilled that Linnros is going to the Hall. he certainly deserves it.
