Man that was ugly last night. Mase was far from his best, but this team was a dumpster fire in their own zone for most of the night. Really can't understand why Hak felt it necessary to get Schultz back in the lineup and (frank) with D pairs the way he did, and don't even get me started on the scratching of Raffl.
While this team is far from a a Cup contender, they should be better than what they've shown so far. At some point, you have to start to take a good, hard look at the coaching staff. |

I'm actually getting concerned about goaltending. Both guys seem lost. They are better than this, but we need to start seeing it. Get league average goaltending & they might have 10 wins or more. |

Screw consistent lineups and pairings.. Scratch someone different every game (except VDV) cause you know.. The competition.. it makes us better.. |

I, unfortunately witnessed that poop show.....I don't care how anyone spins it....Mason sucked...again. Bad rebounds...no big saves. Both guys have done little to inspire confidence.
The one thing I left thinking was how Toronto has turned it over to the kids. I'm not just talking about the guys up front, but they also are going with a bunch of young D men as well. The young guys are getting coached up.
Different organization with different approaches I guess. |

They are a disaster in their own end. You are bang on about the goaltending. One of the strengths from last year has simply been bad this year.

Goaltending is by far their biggest problem without doubt

Wow, when things aren't going well for the Flyers, and they certainly aren't, crazy thoughts come out. I actually read someone suggesting the Flyers should trade Gostisbehere! The Schenn contract was a mistake. Really? Take a deep breath. |

Yup, one or two more shaky games like this and I'll be ready to see what Stolarz can do. The current play of both goalies is simply unacceptable. Also Hak needs to be held accountable for some of his roster decisions. |

Not just in their own end, puck management is bad in all areas. They lack attention to detail in making the small and right plays. They need to play more as a team, with layers, rather than making it easier on the opposition by only having to beat the goaltender, or a defenseman. Making it too easy for the other team. |

If Hextall thought that Stolarz was going to be ready for the NHL this year, he may not have brought Neuvirth back. I don't see Hextall panicking.

It's not something I'd really want to see, but if both current guys don't pick it up soon, you have to do something. Perhaps a trade? |

I'm for being loyal to vets ....but they have to preform. Hextall is patient and that is a great quality as a GM....hopefully his loyalty is rewarded.

I haven't seen Stolarz play for a long time....so I can't comment on his readiness ....but what options are an upgrade n trade market? I'm sure Hextall hopes one of these two step up.

Maybe you flip one of them for another goalie who is struggling, hoping that a change of scenery does the trick.

Ride it out. They will pick it up or at least one will. Like others have said, they are a mess in their own end. They always seem vulnerable. They didn't give up a lot of shots last night but the times the leafs had the puck they almost always had a dangerous opportunity. How many looks did Mathews miss last night? The top players aren't playing well enough. Giroux giving up that short handed chance and Jake getting rope a doped in his own end on the Marancin bomb.
These guys have to be better. |

Konecny and Simmonds were about the only guys last night that I wasn't pissed at. Riding it out is what they'll likely do, I just hope one of them can turn it around before they become completely buried in the standings.

And for crissakes, get Raffl and Manning back in the lineup.

Matthews could have easily had a hat trick in the game. This game could've easily been 8 or 9 -3.

I was there....with everyone wearing 88 in the warmup, I couldn't tell what the scratches were....then I saw VDV , so much for him being a scratch. Great penalty too....he cleared the glass by 6 feet, to put them two men down.
Then I saw Schultz....not sure why you put a slow footed d man who hasn't played in a while against a team like the Leafs, who have speed everywhere in their lineup, over Manning , who to me has been one the guys who's played well back there. |

Pretty extreme on trading Ghost. Someone dove deep in the bottle last night. As for Schenn, not a surprise reaction. I listened for three months last summer he should be traded before he got extended. |

With the Vandevelde penalty, the puck went up on edge. He was just trying to get it out of the slot, the dangerous area. It happens, and it's unfortunate. This coach, likes to use playing time, and create competition. Manning's game has been going backwards, and Schultz hasn't been playing. He decided to scratch Manning. I just try and understand it and look at it objectively, even if I don't agree with it. I certainly don't agree with sitting Manning and Raffl.

We outplayed them. They were fortunate to get the soft goals that got them into the game. With this said, even while outplaying them, there were glaring mistakes. Everyone should remember that opening goal by Kadri by our so called top pair defensemen. |

We haven't had a legit top pair in a very long time.
