He isn't producing like one
- GERBE!!!75PTS

LIke the best centre from the draft? He's a good player, in the middle of the top forwards from that draft. The #1? Debateable, my personal optinion would be no. I'm not even sure what your beef is. You don't think he's producing like a 100 point centre? He was never supposed to. He was never sold as an elite player, let alone a 100 point centre, which would have made him the highest scoring centre in the league last year. by more that 15 points too. Did you get the impression he was supposed to be generational? No one, and I mean no one ever, has said that. You've gotten that idea all on your own.

Go look at Landeskog, Ryan and Staal's stats.
- Sabresfan-365

Those players all stepped up their first year and second

One became the youngest captain ..

One scored back to back 30 goal seasons ..

. one was The best third line shut down center in the NHL

WI'll see what happens but right now I'm not happy

Im talking about their production right now...

Edit @ bold: Are you serious right now, your not even going to give reinhart his due with possession and defensive play jesus.

You're Harping on Reinharts production and yet point out that Staal should be viewed as better because he was a great third liner? Im done

I was thinking he was going to be like jonathan toews a franchise changing player
- GERBE!!!75PTS

Nope. I think you're alone there. He's a good player, nothing more, nothing less. He may (likely even) end up as a core player, but franchise cornerstone, he is not.

I think I'm more pissed because I thought he was going to step up and be a PPG player with jack gone ...Honestly I thought he was going to carry the team

And now you see younger players in his draft class producing at a point per game level

it's frustrating

African American gentleman that works for CNN said it's " Whitelash America" that caused Trump to be President. I'm confused, would it be Whitelash America if Hillary was President ? I guess it only works one way.
- SABRES 89

Your head must always be hurting you.

"This team is missing 2 top 6 forwards"

Sam Reinhart - 2 goals in 13 games
Matt Moulson- 0 goals in last 9 or 10 games
Girgensons - 1 goal
Tyler Ennis - 1 goal

ENTIRE BLUE LINE - 0 goals

If you think adding Eichel is going to fix everything, you're kidding yourself

- sbroads24

This cannot be said enough.

I think the team can be solid for a while but they really look badly out-coached every single night.

No. they didn't. The next year awas the year they got rid of anyone and everyone capable of playing hockey. If anyone played too well, it earned them a ticket out of town.

The only players they dumped that year were players with expiring contracts. That's not really a "tank". that's just smart asset management.

- prock

The intention was to tank that year. Anyone who says different has a foggy memory. They started by trading Pominville the year before, not adding anyone at center besides the draft pick Grigorenko and trading the captain Thomas Vanek after 7 games.

Just did the back reading and I see there is a lot of questing in regards to the 2014 draft and who we should have taken. Since it's all moot and we can't go back in time, would anyone be in favor of tanking the rest of this season (not that that would ever happen) and going for one more round's worth of top 5 pick talent? Or does everyone feel that what's currently in the system (plus additional UFA/trades) is good enough to contend once with the younger guys start hitting full stride?

Yes, it's needed and might happen anyway. This team has a very slim chance to be really good without another top end talent

I understand everyone's desire to start building a winner now, but I'm not too sure if we have enough star-power in the system yet. Not after look at what Edmonton, Toronto, and soon to be Caroline with that defense their building. Not sure if Risto will be enough, we don't know what we'll have in Nylander, long term Kane and Ennis, and Reinhart doesn't seem to be growing into a dominate star player (He'll be really good, but great maybe a stretch) So, if we do bottom out this year, I see us at best picking 3-6, and I'm not sure how good this draft will shape up to be, lot's of people feel it will look like 2014 all over again.

Everyone wants us to go Rush in the playoffs and and be one and done every year

This team lacks so much talent and (depth they have none besides one piece but he's not ready )

It really is a bad year to tank Patrick is going to be a superstar but there's no way we can get him

I just can't see it .. And then the Eastern conference finals comment I've been trying to figure out how that's possible when we're gonna lose half the team
They would have to gel together fast with new players
