I have no idea what Kane's value is but I imagine given how close minny is to the cap that this would have brought some kind of valuable roster player back. Bummer

Instead we got Kulikov. I don't think we downgraded too much. Our defense has been doing alright, I'd rather not trade away players with offensive ability unless we have a plan to replace them. I like Bailey and Carrier and Baptiste but they haven't been getting on the scoresheet yet. That's not to fault them or say they should be, I'm just saying we don't exactly have a 20 goal scorer waiting in the wings ready to replace a top 6 player with speed. We get that and we can ship Kane out with no debate from me.

Edit: Nylander, of course, is the first one that comes to mind, but how ready for the NHL he is isn't something that I'd know. Anyone have an update on how he's done in the AHL?

I agree with what you are saying, but if they were trying to get rid of him before the incident, IMO that means this has more to do with him personally than him as a player.

Realistically, how often does that even happen?

I agree with what you are saying, but if they were trying to get rid of him before the incident, IMO that means this has more to do with him personally than him as a player.

Agreed. If he stays out of trouble and gets some goals we'll all be happy. Judge throws out his case if it happens, too. So maybe that will keep him in line.

To answer my edit above, Nylander has 2-3-5 in 10 games. Not exactly lighting it up but for a professional rookie I'll definitely take it.

I don't disagree for the most part, but they're not the only team to do something like this. They're home again after this game. It's not much different than having to deal with a guy going down in his first shift of the game (like Fasching recently). Can't replace a guy during the game, so you just have to manage without that player.

They'd call a guy up. Not to mention people get hurt in games and you play with 5. Obviously not ideal but it can work. It's a risk but I guess they're saying it not that likely.

Not like they're in California, right?
