Holy crap that's a very trade able contract...

That and right now... They are getting the bounces. The 2 goals the other night were a deflection, and a bank off a goalie from behind the net (Nice play, either way)

They are clinging to the wins they get. Which is fine while Eichel is out, and to a lesser extent Kane.

But I do find it interesting that Kane's on ice save % is historically low here, and when he was in WPG. Maybe the reason they are shopping him is his inability to play a structured system

Everything typically evens out, they didn't get many bounces against Toronto

If you're looking for precedent Re: Trouba. Im fairly certain the Yotes did the same with Turris way back before they shipped him off to Ottawa

Did not know this, might play a factor especially since its one of the reasons 28 and 63 keep popping up in rumours

It almost literally pains me to type it but Bylsma's done a good job defensively so far and its making things even better for Lehner.

Can't find the shot chart but they're giving up far fewer high danger chances and its lessened the burden on Lehner who's stopping the ones we are giving up.

The only drawback here is at some point (probably when 15 is back) they're gunna have to open things up to really hang with big boys in this league. Im not sure this d-core as is can handle that.

I'm not sure when Eichel gets back you'll see any changes. Coaches love defense

Last year was 2nd worst on whole team (regulars) with .905
2015 was 2nd worst in WPG with .904
2014 was 2nd worst of all regulars (Byfuglien was worse) with .895

I'd say that's a trend

But if it makes you feel better Ill come up with one that isnt in there (probably). Does Setoguchi count? Either him or Coyle I cant remember signed an extension and then got flipped like a day or two later in the Burns deal?

Thats interesting. It also makes me think more that it would have been for another forward not a d-man. One that fits this system better.

Something around Gardiner for Trouba seems like the best move imo.

edit: since his name was mentioned on here maybe Brodin?

Well that one doesnt surprise me given his shot selection, puck is at best usually at the other point by the time it rings off the boards high and wide

Long time creeper, I finally took the plunge and got an account. Throw my $.02 in here and there and then vanish into the night so as not to disturb the feng shui you've had in here for years.
