I have more faith in his sense of self-preservation than in trump's ability for self-restraint.

I have more trust in the generals that surround trump, tbh. again. the little imp is far from a rational human. at the very least, there are some protections in place to contain trump.

Every president has. Either through denial or incompetence. Everybody knows that there has never been a military solution to this crisis that doesn't involve the death of tens of thousands of South Korean's due to the North's conventional weapon arsenal therefore making that outcome unlikely. Since diplomacy will be the only option why let it fester to the point of giving that maniac the ace up his sleeve?

Lots of blame on this one, you won't see that rightful narrative ever portrayed however.

this is a guy who has no regards for diplomacy. he is to the point of even rattling china's cage at this point. much like trump he could give two poops about his people.

The blame falls on China, IMO. America's only real tool has been sanctions, and China helps NK get around those sanctions.

A homicidal maniac that would make most 3rd rate dictators blush. There was a small window of opportunity for negotiations when W. was President and Il was dictator but god forbid he look weak instead of sabre rattling.

China is the only answer here to which I agree with Glucks that Trump going right to the trade card is really (frank)ing stupid.

Yeah you're correct here. They use them as their pit bull and in turn keep the regime afloat.

I have faith in his sense of self-preservation.

I have no faith in Trump's self-control.

I have rapidly diminishing faith that Republicans will actually take a stand against Trump. Remember - this guy is the commander in chief. Do you know what checks and balances exist, limiting the President's control of the Nuclear arsenal?

Kim is an awful, atrocious human being who's committed countless crimes against humanity, I'm not defending him in any way. I'm just saying, his whole campaign to get a nuclear weapon is to be part of the MAD club. It's part of his quest for self-preservation, the same way killing anyone who shows any dissent is. Launching that nuke does nothing for self preservation, so he won't do it, unless left no choice.

The greatest danger is what happens if/when NK collapses. Don't want a nuclear arsenal in the chaos of a collapsing nation. But that is likely part of his equation - kind of forces a country like China to support his regime.

The trade card make no sense whatsoever in any context. That chicken has flown the coop 50 years ago. Its just another in a long line of items which shows trump has no clue about diplomacy.

The sad part is his supporters will never admit they were conned. Much like the believers who pour money into the coffers of the charlatans who peddle religion.

At the end of the day, all of them are nothing but pimps.

There are no limits in reality. What there is though, is the ablility to remove Trump from office under the 25th Amendment. While I hate just about everything Pence stands for, I do believe there is some sort of rationality in his actions. At least politically and humanely.

Bolded was my point.

Serious question though, how long does the process for the 25th take, and what are the conditions?

Pence is less dangerous from a doomsday view, but more dangerous in that he'll be able to screw up America far more efficiently than Trump, since he actually knows the game.

Hopefully the Democrats win the house in 2018 and find a way to get rid of both of them at once. There's more news now about how Pence hasn't been squeaky clean either.

It's scary that he might actually win the second term. Combination of being an incumbent, and Democrats not really doing anything.

like when i was the only one in the football thread to call the Eagles beating the Vikings and the Falcons?

or when I predicted an OT finish prior to the SB when it has never happened before in history?

Yes, but he ran for office when a lot of the country was not happy with how things were going. So he had a lot of people on his side that he would be different from all the other presidents (and he is lololol)

I think now a lot of those people are finding out that he has no idea what he's doing.

Trump will not be a 2 term president.

You can take that #Streit2TheBank
