It's amazing that some trump supporters actually do believe Obama was president, and just golfing, during Katrina.

Especially since, despite being a senator from Illinois, he did actually go to meet with Katrina refugees in Houston to learn more about what happened, saw the failings of FEMA at the time, and rebuilt the organization when he became president.

And Trump, being compulsively driven to undo anything Obama did, is actually trying to take funds away from FEMA.

In short, Obama did as much for Katrina victims as Trump has done for Harvey victims... and is one of the big reasons what's happening in Texas isn't a lot worse.

Edit: But at least racist sheriffs can safely ignore the courts, AND go out and buy tanks now. That's what's needed.

none of it really shocks me anymore. we're dealing with real live retarded people.

Edit2: and Trump is now super presidential because he wore a USA cap instead of a MAGA one.

Prediction: Trump will be found guilty of obstruction of justice, not for firing Comey, but for pardoning those who are found in contempt of the court when they refuse to come, in spite of subpoenas.

Or he might just be found guilty of obstruction of justice with Arpaio, but I think they'll hold off for something bigger.

Then you should enter into some kind of therapy, involving a self administered lead injection.

“In Washington, D.C., the response to that question centers on how members of Congress can oppose Trump’s agenda, on how Democrats can retake the House of Representatives, and on how and when to push for impeachment. But in the country at large, some militant leftists are offering a very different answer. On Inauguration Day, a masked activist punched the white-supremacist leader Richard Spencer. In February, protesters violently disrupted UC Berkeley’s plans to host a speech by Milo Yiannopoulos, a former Breitbart.com editor. In March, protesters pushed and shoved the controversial conservative political scientist Charles Murray when he spoke at Middlebury College, in Vermont.”

...responses sometimes spill blood. Since antifa is heavily composed of anarchists, its activists place little faith in the state, which they consider complicit in fascism and racism. They prefer direct action: They pressure venues to deny white supremacists space to meet. They pressure employers to fire them and landlords to evict them. And when people they deem racists and fascists manage to assemble, antifa’s partisans try to break up their gatherings, including by force.

Such tactics have elicited substantial support from the mainstream left.

...

Antifa believes it is pursuing the opposite of authoritarianism. Many of its activists oppose the very notion of a centralized state. But in the name of protecting the vulnerable, antifascists have granted themselves the authority to decide which Americans may publicly assemble and which may not. That authority rests on no democratic foundation. Unlike the politicians they revile, the men and women of antifa cannot be voted out of office. Generally, they don’t even disclose their names.

...

Revulsion, fear, and rage are understandable. But one thing is clear. The people preventing Republicans from safely assembling on the streets of Portland may consider themselves fierce opponents of the authoritarianism growing on the American right. In truth, however, they are its unlikeliest allies.

Deborah Wasserman Schultz is a member of the U.S. Democratic Party and was a former chairperson for the Democratic National Committee. On July 24, 2016, Wasserman Schultz announced her resignation from her position after Wikileaks released a collection of hacked emails indicating that she and other members of the DNC staff showed bias against the presidential campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders in favour of Hillary Clinton's campaign. Not surprisingly, she has a reputation as an intensely partisan politician.

The August 28 2017 issue of National Review has this story.

“The strangest scandal in Washington is one that most Americans have not heard about. The story is long and complicated, but the core facts are these: Democrats, including Schultz, hired multiple members of Imran Awan’s family to serve, ultimately, up to 80 Democratic members of the House. As IT workers, the Awans had access to sensitive information and were paid lavish salaries, but many of them were also allegedly engaged in a bizarre series of financial crimes, including bankruptcy fraud, insurance fraud, tax fraud and extortion. Some were “ghost” workers, collecting paychecks without showing up for work. One Awan brother even ran a car dealership while supposedly working full time for the Democrats. Oddly enough, when the Awan family’s schemes finally unravelled and federal law enforcement closed in, Schultz remained faithful – even claiming that the Awans might be victims of “Islamophobia.” Awan’s wife fled to Pakistan, carrying an illegal amount of cash, but Imran himself was arrested on his way to boarding his own flight out of the country. The next steps are clear. Yes, he should be prosecuted for his alleged crimes, but investigators should dig deeper. Did he abuse his access to sensitive information? Why did he send large amounts of money to Pakistan? What did Debbie Wasserman Schultz know? It’s a bizarre story, and it’s only beginning.”
