perhaps next time you won't jump to your default response, of labeling someone a racist, when you assume you know what someone is thinking before you ask for clarification.

Illegally? No. Same goes for any ethic group.

Legally? I couldn't give a toss where an individual is from. Our legal immigration system is pretty good. If these folks are fleeing the United States for asylum here our government needs to declare a state of emergency on behalf of these folks and have them safely escorted over the border. It's really only a matter of time before somebody dies doing this.

A guy last winter lost several fingers crossing into Manitoba from frost bite. As long a blind eye is being made to the act(meaning you make it here to can stay bud) all you are doing is encouraging a very serious and dangerous enterprise in the act of feeling your way through the woods into Canada.

This I agree with to a certain extent.

I would argue that there are situations where following proper protocol is not practical and cannot be expected... but in general, I agree with you.

If you make it okay for people to just come on board as long as they make it here, more people are going to get hurt or die trying to make it here on a floating door.

People evolve, and when they gain further information on a given topic, they may soften their POV, or even change it.

When people are young, and don't have life experience, they tend to grasp onto the popular view points of the day, and after living life, paying taxes and gaining life experience, and seeing the same issues over and over again, and never getting resolved....... they tend to change their POV on some issues.

- SourceS.V.P.

It is. But considering his repertoire of posts, it's hard to think he agrees with it completely.

We're talking about a guy who also supports a ban on immigration for people from muslim majority countries, that haven't been involved in terrorist attacks against the US.

The notion that somehow Western countries are open season is perplexing. We tend to be the most welcoming nations on Earth despite being told we are horrible horrible bigots on the regular.

Look at Japan's immigration numbers lol

Waiting for years in a war zone while your application gets processed, and your home and local embassy are bombed out of existence is the way to go!

The other thing about the post he made is that he also linked to the debt clock, with the strong implication that these people would hurt the country more than help, which disagrees with the data. It's a typical right-wing argument, that typically ignores facts.

Who's calling Canada a bigotted nation?

We've got doppses here, sure, but as a whole, we're above that, which is a big reason why people were so motivated to get out and ensure Harper couldn't tarnish Canada's standing going forward.

Canada is a strange country, because our national identity is one of multiculturalism. Being welcoming is what we're about.

Canada is far from perfect but we try to help people I think as we should. We are pretty (frank)ing lucky to live here and it's not only morally correct to offer the same kind of living standard to others less fortunate and it's in the Nations self interest as well.

I just don't think letting people wander through the woods to enter here illegally is correct. People will die.

This will only lead to pages of unnecessary flame wars. As the author of this vile thread I will spare us all but rest assured it's a popular and rising opinion.

Another interesting article .........

Disclaimer: NOT trying to make a point, draw your own conclusion.

In the age of Trump, Brexit and a wider backlash against globalization, left-wing economic populists are enjoying a resurgence in mainstream credibility by railing against free trade and “neoliberals.” This is a scandal. For in the form of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the world has a petri dish in which to judge the sort of policies endorsed by Jones, Klein, British Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, homegrown socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders and countless other deluded utopians.

Yeah I have a real hard time with telling people that they have to wait and probably die while bureaucrats process their paperwork, though I accept that it's kind of a necessary evil at times.

Read it.

Dictatorship != Left leaning ideals.

Anyone who read that article and felt it made a valid point is an idiot.

TRIGGER WARNING! I'm not calling you an idiot dopps, because you didn't say you agree with it or not. You just posted an article that fits with your ideology(the only type of article you read), and took a jab at people who disagree with you. I have no way of knowing if you agree with that poorly written opinion piece.
